Tanuja Chandra has delivered pretty good films so far, so yes, I am looking forward to FILM STAR. :)

You sure the film is called Film Star and not 'Whore' or 'Call Girl'. Mahima looks more like the latter than a Film Star.

I don't expect much from the Director of:

Dushman
Sangharsh
Yeh Zindagi Ka Safar
Sur

Rather unimpressive movies for someone who actually studied film-making in the US (and apprenticed with the Bhatt's).

By the way I was the fool who gave Mahima her first break in life. Her professional (modelling/films) life I mean.

Was that before she got introduced in PARDES??
Was it modelling break, adveretizing for your store/ business??

Reason for so many Mahima fans in Canada-North America is that she is from Canada. She was crowned Miss India-Canada (or something like that) over here.

Yes it was before Pardes and when she went by the name of Ritu Choudhary rather than Mahima. I gave her a break as a model for the cover of a magazine (not a film magazine) that we used to publish way back in 1993, which was also her first professional job. Immediately after that she got the Pepsi commercial with Aamir Khan and Aishwarya Rai in which she played the role of Aishwarya's friend. It was after that commercial that Subhash Ghai picked her up for Pardes. So I guess I may have some role to play in dumping such a horror on to us poor Hindi film audiences.

By the way she is definately not from Canada and also was never Miss Canada, she is from Delhi.

PS: Just some trivia info. The commercial she did for Pepsi was a scene to scene copy of the Michael J. Fox Pepsi commercials that ran in the US in the 1980's.

Interesting.

Sanjay, you mentioned that you used to publish a film magazine. May be you or some one in your friends circle might shed some light on what I just posted in
viewtopic.php?t=6481
thread (TASVEER)??

It's about a quote about AB in one of film magazines.

Thanks.

Rana

Sorry yaar it was not a filmi magazine. I was General Manager of a company which was involved in a lot of things including organizing of entertainment shows, film premiers, rock shows etc. The company also used to publish a magazine, which is what I was referring to. Sorry I cannot be of help with the'AB' info.

Finally the film is releasing. Looks like, there were no takers and the film is premiering on TV. Then, no chance of a theatrical release, and half of us zulmis had predicted it to be a Box Office Hit. LOL

Tanuja upset with Sahara!

By IndiaFM News Bureau, April 11th 2005 - 1330 hrs IST

The much delayed Tanuja Chandra film; 'Filmstar' will be aired on television before it is released in the theatres. And depending upon the response generated, a decision will be taken regarding its theatrical release.

Tanuja Chandra is disappointed with Sahara One Motion Pictures, the producers of the film. Tanuja who is fed up waiting for the film's release says that the film was completed in April 2004, after which Sahara started the promotion, but then suddenly everything went cold.

Moving ahead with her life Tanuja says "I worked very hard on this film I wish Sahara would have recognized it. If I knew that my film would be treated like this, I would have never cast mainstream actors like Mahima and Priyanshu."

Thoroughly disappointed with the company Tanuja has decided not to work with them unless there is a very clear and tight agreement.
