I didn't know, Indians have started to get THX certification.
Boys and Virumaandi are THX certified (credits in Ayngran DVD at the end).
(DVD is not THX certified though)

Any other Indian THX certified films that you know of??

I cant IMAGINE/UNBELIEVABLE/INCONCIEVABLE, that THX can CERTIFY a DVD like BOYS/VIRAMUNDI? at what cost, based on what criteria?

and if THX certified DVDS r like this, I dont want them to be THX certified!

I think, that THX CERTIFICATION is a GIMMICK, that made me loose confidence in THX :bash:

THX didn't certify the DVDs. I think it was only that the audio mixing studio (Real Image?) was approved and certified by them.

THX PM3â„¢ AND PROFESSIONAL MIXING ROOM PROGRAMS CONTINUE GLOBAL EXPANSION

MUNICH, May 10, 2002 — New THX Certified pm3 and professional mixing rooms continue to open worldwide, with several new sites recently certified and other slated to be certified within the coming months. The new sites are located in North America, Europe and Asia.

The most recently certified THX pm3â„¢ multi-channel mixing and monitoring facility is Audio Master 3000 in Mexico City. Also recently certified was a pro mixing stage at Real Image Media Technologies in Chennai, India.

THX pm3 sites to soon be certified include HouseWork in Stockholm, with two rooms, and Wavemaster in Tokyo. Professional mixing stages in Europe slated for certification include Arri TV in Munich, Proton in Berlin and Neva Films, in St. Petersburg, Russia. North America, too, will soon have new THX Certified professional mixing stages, with three rooms slated to open at Deluxe in Los Angeles, and one each at Angel Mountain in Pittsburgh and at Mexico City’s New Art Digital. Also scheduled for certification is a pro room at Ramoji Film City in Andrah Pradesh, India.

In new equipment certification, Dynaudio has three speakers recently approved for use in THX pm3 rooms — the AIR-6, AIR-15 and AIRbase-II.

THX certification isn't necessary on DVD, and some such discs are not very good quality. Look at the first R1 Highlander DVD from Artisan or any non-anamorphic DVDs from LD masters they have certified.

As I said in my post,

Only the abovementioned Films are THX certified, not the DVDs.

Still it's something new for Indian Films.

THX certification for audio is more common. I'm not sure whether these/ most films are THX certified for visual as well. THX visual certification exists too but not many bother with visual certification.

Screen containing Ash pic is neither 4:3 nor 16:9.
Settings problem.
