This album is being too overpraised. It's not one of Rahman's best work.

I concur..HUGELY OVERATED here! imho, Rehman with Tehzeeb and Lakeer went so LOW, that MEENAXI seemed a MASTER PIECE to LOYALS..

IT IS VERY GOOD, but not THE BEST! :baaa:

my tardy two cents:

this soundtrack is friggin' quality. you can tell that rahman put plenty of time into EVERY track. i don't think there is one track on this album that you can call average. i was initially disappointed by what seemed to be a lack of melody, and i thought that the voices were being stifled by the percussion. even though i still have the same critique (although to a lesser degree), the album has won me over after maybe a month of listening to it. 9/10 (at least)

Whenever rehman puts a lots of time, rather recycling, results had been good always!

Definitely a Rahman classic - among his best.

I just noticed while listening to the album on headphones that at the beginning of Chinnamma Chilakkamma there is a dusty old record effect, until the main music kicks in. It is also there at the end right after Sukhvinder Singh stops singing. Is this related to the picturization somehow?
