It will be intresting to compare Ajay Devgan (Yuva) with Suyra (Aayitha Ezhuthu), both of whom are playing the same roles in thier respective versions and both of whom are talented actors.

Im trying to see if Ayngaran can release this version with English Subtitles on the big screen.

Here's hoping both Hindi and Tamil versions will be hit, Mani Ratnam does badly need one after his last masterpieces flopped Dil Se... in 1998 (Hindi) and Kanathil Muthamittal (Tamil) in 2002.

The trailers from the Hindi version and the Tamil version look identical. I like Madhavan and Surya more than I like Abhishek and Ajay, so I opted for the Tamil version.

Ak, or "ayudha/ayitha" is a special character in Tamil script. Since there is no character in Tamil script for the "f" sound, ak is placed before the "p/b" character to make it "f." The ak character is 3 dots in an upward-pointing triangle. The title Ayudha Ezhudhu means "write ayudha."

It's Siddarth from the BOYS along with Surya and Madhavan. The heroines are Trisha Krishnan, Esha Deol and Meera Jasmine. I don't understand why Mani picked Abhishek and Esha.

You mean they are like "Hum sai hai Muqabla"? Those wre pretty good in the south indian languages except for the idiotic rap song. They were pretty lousy in Hindi though

Maybe he saw something in them that wasn't fully realized in other films or wants to prove he can extract above average performances from heretofore undistinguished actors.

The websites and publicity stills are not too great. Even low budget Hindi films these days have better design than that. The movie looks good though.

Abhishek and Esha gets benefit of the doubt. But I don't know about Kareena.

Rahman-Mani Ratnam combination has once again struck gold with Aayitha Ezhuthu album. The first three-day audio sales have crossed the magic figure of 1 lakh!

No Tamil film audio has done such fantastic opening sales in recent times. Said a spokesperson of Sony who is marketing the audio: "Aayitha Ezhuthu audio sales is phenomenal at a time when music industry is going through bad times. And people seems to be going crazy about the songs."

Normally a hit Tamil audio sale is around 40,000 to 50,000 units sold over a period of three months. But this audio has created history as it may cross 3 lakhs even before the release of the film and if the film is a hit, it will do business close to 5 lakhs units, something that happened a few years back regularly with audios of Indian, Gentlemen, Roja, Bombay and Alaipayuthe.

The most popular song in the album is Jana Gana Mana sung by Rahman and Karthik followed by Hey Goodbye Nanba sung by Sunitha Sarathy, Shankar Mahadevan, Lucky Ali and Karthik.

I doubt if it is really true though. This is a marketting strategy. I dont think the CD will do even as much close to Virumandi. In the last couple of years, music that commercially did well are

2. Virumandi
3. Kakka Kakka
4. Parthiban Kanavu
5. Dhool
6. Run
7. Kadal Virus

I dont think Aayudha Ezuthu will be anywhere closer to this list.

Not most recently lot of demand from Autograph CD, but Ayngaran did not released the CD so far!!!!

I think the next big hit will be from Vidyasagar / Yuvan Shankar Raja. Not Illayaraja not ARR, not Harris, not any specific director's movie.
