Okay can't hold my breathe any longer I feel this need to jump in and have my say

Arsh, Rana and DragunR2 are diehard fans and will defend BEI to the end, not withstanding the fact that their latest releases are shits and even below BaBa, Eros and sky standards. I choose those brands because Rana mentioned them earlier.
The only problem with Sky is freezing most of their transfers are excellent and as everyone knows are done by Shemaroo. However, because it is released under Sky label it's considered shit, but the same transfer released under Shemaroo label is considered excellent and highly desirable to the extent that people will go to the trouble of importing from India.
Pick any Eros recent releases and it is better than BEI recent releases, same goes for Samrat. So where does that leaves us
The only conclusion BEI is now a shit company. :D

Nobody's saying they have been perfect. It would have been the right thing to do to recall their freezing discs, but that was only on a few titles, and since then they've started using gold or hybrid media. They've stopped using the annoying IP ads at the beginning. And they are the only company today doing new transfers of old films. Look at SKY releases. They are far worse, and they are still using silver media. Their occasional good transfers like Caravan are the exception, not the norm. DEI Dillagi is on par with Baba and Eros standards, and their BEI new releases have been mediocre, but it is not their fault the film prints for their recent releases are so bad. You've seen what they do when supplied with a good print, but they can't fully restore a damaged print.

As for Shemaroo DVDs, they are sometimes better than SKY and sometimes at the same level. But at least they're doing newer transfers of their films. Not at former DEI level, but often acceptable. I'm always curious about their transfers because they offer a possible alternative to YRF DVDs, but I don't worship them or anything. SKY transfers are anything but excellent, man!

Any volunteers for posting screen screen caps from the wosrst of DEI/ BEI (as selected by their critics; a few exceptions like PAL to NTSC transferred ones) and the best of other brands (selected by those who like them; a few exceptions like Prog EROS, Super Digital Progressive, EVP).

It will be interesting.

Perhaps there is a new updated version of SKY Caravan with a cleaner transfer, because the one I rented had very few lines on it and looked quite good, though a tad on the dark side. It was even pseudo-progressive. I looked up the screenshots here on Zulm and the menu was different from the one I rented. In any case, for one new SKY transfer you get 100 old ones. It was on gold media, so it might have been replicated, and could have used the Eros transfer.

If DEI sold SKY DVDs on their site, then we must blake IW, IP, NehaFlix, DVDDhamaka, and all the other sites that sell SKY DVDs instead of blaming SKY. DEI did f-up with the silver media on a few titles, but, again they only used it on a few titles that I know of, and even then, they discontinued the use of it.

The best thing for them to do would have been to recall the discs, I agree, but you can't hold a grudge against a company if they have corrected a problem. If BEI is still using silver media today, then you would have a complaint. Why aren't you demanding that Eros, SKY, etc. recall all their VHS transfers and replace them with new ones? Where is the decency in giving us VHS transfers on DVD?

rana come on man dont stiffle your conscience admit that kohraa is the worst transfer from dei/bei so far even worst than yahudi from baba

wrong again most of their titles were re-released within the last two years were on silver discs and selling everywhere from 1.99 and up this leads me to believe that they were strapped for cash and deliberately used cheap media for a quick buck screwing the public and yes even you diehard fans.

Haven't seen BEI Kohraa yet. It's in the mail now.

If, Kohra is a bad print, I wish you had told me 10 days ago. I would have waited till I checked out the print before ordering/ buying.

Rana

P.S.
I have heard that BEI's Vintage tunes series is just the same transfer as Samrat?? If so, these will be the worst BEI/ DEI DVDs and I would hope these to be an exception. Obviously, BEI is releasing these songs to promote their forthcoming DVDs (perhaps rights acquired from Samrat) and hopefully with new Progressive encodings.

Hey Dragun-Why can you not be positive-your response are all negatives-Only when you response positively then dvds will get better-As long as you put one company on a pedestal and ignore their faults whereas you walk over the others then you get no results..BE positive..

I haven't ignored BEI's faults. I've mentioned their silver media, IP ads, and their bad DVDs like Disco Dancer and Dillagi a few times in this thread. No pedestals here. Just count the number of good DEI DVDs of classic films versus Eros, YRF, and SKY combined. And prey tell, how can one be positive about bad DVDs?

Well if it was "most of their titles" as you say, that is clearly wrong. Again, it would have been the nice thing to do to recall the bad DVDs and replace them for the consumers, but they also do not do use silver media today, and if you are going to complain about BEI in general, you should also complain about the raddi DVDs coming out of every other company. If you hate BEI, then you should want to launch missiles at the headquarters of the other companies! :D
