It's legal in San Francisco. I happen to live right next to the city.

I didn't say anything about cost of DVD. Just mentioning how it is pointless to review the DVD since it's basically the same as KMG or Saathiya with a couple more extras.

Also a note on disc media, even though it's a silver disc, it might be the high quality kind that Hollywood uses. It's not as simple as being gold or silver, because most of Hollywood releases are on silver media. I've never had a problem with a YRF disc in terms of rotting (the only Indian DVD company that I can say that for) so I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt until a disc fails.

Most of the Hollywood dual layer DVDs I've seen are gold, but I have seen a few silver ones and they didn't freeze on me. The majority of the Indian silver dual layer DVDs I've seen have frozen at some point, so it must be a factor, but not the only one.

Basically it's a factor as in, gold won't go bad 99% of the time (unless you have scratches or something). With silver, it depends on what kind you get. Most of the Indian companies get the worst quality, hence the rotting issues. Of my 87 Hollywood DVD's, around 60 are on silver media (includes acclaimed DVD's like Finding Nemo, POTC, Catch Me If You Can, LOTR, Harry Potter, Seven, Fight Club, Snatch, and many other prominent releases), and I've never had a glitch. For Bollywood DVD's, I still feel like banging my head everytime I have to watch DCH.

i picked up a bootleg copy of kal ho naa ho today. when i looked at the packaging, i thought this was the best dupe i had ever seen. it was a 2-disc set, in the exact box as the original except that the cover art was a bit inferior like all pirates are. i was elated that i had picked this fine product for only $15 CDN, and mentally stuck up my middle finger to yash raj films and their pricing. however, when i put the disk in my dvd player, i was horrified. pixalation galore and poor audio; as bad as the shots of the pirate above. i checked the disc and it is only one layer. toronto buyer beware. :nopity:

I looked quickly into several DVDs and none was good.
Depressing.
- Pyaasa (Eros): junk DVD. An insult to this film. 3/10
- Tehzeeb: Mediocre 6/10
- L.O.C. (2 disc edition): Mediocre, looks like coming from
PAL master with jerky motion, field averaged, DNR problems
galore, disappointing. 5/10
- KHNH: Not progressive, field averaged! DNR issues,
flickering and smearing, aliasing, compression problems
~6/10 (and this is not a pirate, the official DVD!)

Reviews may be following if I find time.
