I'm sure many of us have Many James Bond DVDs or the whole set of 20 (not including Never Say-- & Casino Royale).

I bought mine recently.

Surprise! I found 5 out of 20 DVDs on Silver Media. Rest are in Dark Gold, like old times.

I wonder which ones out of James Bond Collection were released on Silver Media or is it a Batch and Replicator (under license) related problem??

The following 5 DVDs out of 20 in the set, I got on Silver Media.

1) DIE ANOTHER DAY (Spl Ed)
2) Thunder Ball
(Octopussy, A view to Kill, Live & Let Die, Majesty's Secret Service are on GOLD Media)

3) The Living Daylights
4) Diamonds are Forever
5) You Only Live Twice
(Russia, World not Enough, For Ur Is Only, Moonraker are on Gold Media)

Third Set: All 7 DVDs are on Gold Media (Goldeneye, Goldfinger, License to Kill, Spy who Loved Me, Tom Never Dies, Dr No)

As someone pointed in another thread, even Hollywood DVDs rot if on Silver Media, I don't expect these Silver Media DVDs to last long.

What to do about it??

I doubt very much they are likely to rot as quickly as a Videosound disc. Even if cheap silver media has been used I bet it is not b grade shit like videosound use.

Just wait and if they rot send them back to the company address on the back. Hollywood companies have beter service than bullshit companies like videosound. When the first harry potter dvd failed to play on a few players they not only sent out new DVDs but also a copy of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to say sorry. Videosound will not even reply to emails.

I agree. Unlike with Indian DVDs, you are not likely to find entire batches of American DVDs on defective media. It's happened before, but it is extremely uncommon.

I don't own many silver dual layer American DVDs, but the ones I have rented didn't freeze.

Looks like, I'll have to keep track of the receipt for a few Yrs.

I was still wondering, if any one has James Bond DVDs that are in different media than what I stated above for different titles in the set. (Contrast between Gold Media discs and Silver media discs is remarkable). You can't miss it. This will clarify if it's a replicator or batch related problem.

Had a few small gouges in Die Another Day DVD, so went to replace it. The replacement set had THUNDERBALL on Gold Media. So, was glad to exchange that one too.

It shows, Media can be different in different batches.

As I mentioned earlier, all discs of Die Another Day DVD, trhat I have come across are on Silver Media.

Now, I have 4 DVDs in the set that are on Silver Media.

1) Die Another Day
2) The Living Daylights
3) Diamonds are Forever
4) You Only Live Twice

I'm sure to find #s 2, 3, 4 on Gold media. Will keep looking for them.

Can you imagine trying to get an exchange for a Videosound disc.

I'm pretty sure all Indian DVD companies will gladly honour their guarantee as long as you cover the shipping costs and a processing fee of $ 15 . I bought a $ 5 LCD watch once with this type of life time warranty. :bash:
