VHS!! copies sell, for rental purpose first copy!! so DVD is more beneficial buisness for AMAZON!

It's called 'Rental Pricing'. Titles which the studio does not expect to sell first come out at a higher rental price and then later the prices are reduced to 'Sell Thru Pricing'. Obviously Columbia does not expect to sell too many Lagaan VHS copies and therefore the higher 'Rental Pricing'. DVDs on the other hand do not have rental pricing and therefore all DVDs are sold only at 'Sell thru Pricing'. Although there is talk about a section of hollywood trying to get 'Rental Pricing' introduced to DVDs also.
