Just watched LOC. It did not come up to my expectation because it did not just focus on war. Not only it was bad directing, the movie theme shouldn’t be that longer if you would have cut the songs, the women’s part. There is no predictment in the movie, you know what’s going to happen to each characters. The way they fight in the movie, instead of making you sad, it turns out to be funny, more like a commercial masala flik. No realism. I have watched many war movies, I would say Border did a better job than this one. I wouldn’t be surprised if this movie wins a award, this probably the best movie ever made for the indians but for us abroad viewers, who have seen many realisic war movies, this is a joke. The back ground music sounded like its been copied from "Black Hawk Down", the songs in the movie were very long and it does bore you. The only part I liked was some of the characters talk, it was funny, especially Manoj Bajpai and Ashutosh Rana. This movie would have been better if they would have used new characters instead of all the bollywood actors, but we all know our indian audience wouldnt like to see new faces. We also know that our indian audience wont watch a movie if the movie don’t have any womens (beautiful womens).
I do have respect for the real hero’s for their bravery; I hope they did not fight like the people in movie, maybe more smarter way. Is this bravery – you see 6 enemies all looking the other way, you are 3 behind them, you know if you run at them, you are surely get killed, but you do also know if you sit and duck down and then shoot, there is a possibility you can get all of them and less chance of dying, but instead you run “Jai Kali, Jai Durga Ma†and boom you get shot, but with 10 bullets in your chest, you still get to kill one of them. If this sounds bravery this is the movie for you, and if you think this is stupidity, then you might don’t want to waste your $8 well if you are getting bored out of your mind, go for it. For people who are getting mad at this review, what can I say, this is how I felt, remember its just my opinion and yes i am an indian from india and yes i love my country very much and yes i do admire our brave soldiers
Silly or Good stuff? : In the beginning as usual Hindi movies, you get to see everybody’s wife, girlfriend. There is close to 10 big heroes, popular bollywood actors in the movie and you get to see everybody’s love. After that here comes the 11 min song. 30 min gone. Then there is a phone part, again we get to see the phone circling around everyone. Lots and lots of memories flashback of their wives as soon as they get shot.
The Action: the fighting strategy in the movie is terrible. Madarchod, tune mere dost ko mara…kutte Pakistani, teri ma ki….deeshooom deeshooom….Yogendar, en benchodo ne mujhe goli maar di…sorry yaar, meine tera badla nahi le paya...yes there is language in the movie but its half cut off, you do get what they are saying, thank you to the subtitles which makes it clearly...
Scene 2: Jai ma durga, jai ma kali, jai ma sarswati….sir I cannot wait for it to be morning, I am going ALONE…..in top there are 10 pakis with machine gun, thops, eyeing right at our hero….our hero breaks the army rule and runs on top to kill all of them and deeeeshooom, our hero dies….here comes the sad music and flash back of his fiance, you suppose to cry at this part, lol
I felt very bad for the real soldiers who got the award for fighting this war, the actors protray them very badly. I believe if RGV, Sanjay Bansali or Yashraj or maybe Karan Johar makes this film, they would have done a better job. This director have done a better job in making films in past, but he messed this one up really bad. This is not from bottom of his heart, its all about the money. He knew if he puts all the stars, it will be the biggest blockbuster and people will go crazy to see this. Yup he did get me aswell, sob, gotta give him props for that. I had 2 other friends with me, they were about to leave in the middle, I had to tell them, common dudes, we have seen so many hindi flicks and we sit till the end, lets give this one a try aswell. I paid $24 too ($8/ticket, 3 ppl), not going to let it go waste.
This movie does make you think, comparing to american soldiers or any other foreign soldeirs, atleast one of them have one of those telescope guns and our indian soldiers dont have any. All they got is AK42, whatever the name is, and told them to run towards the enemy nomatter if there are 100. For watchers, its stupidity, even a small child can figure this out, if he gets out he will get shot and for some people this might sound bravery. Its really sad, how our armys are not equipped with proper guns, amos etc. Its really sad to see how our armys dont have helicopeters/war planes when you need them. If they would have used it, there will be less casualties, and i think those 18 brave kurnals who died might be alive. If this movie is protraying excatly, every single sequence true, then its pathetic. Sorry guys, I did not enjoy it.
