Piracy in not something new to Bollywood. But ever heard a filmmaker involved in the process of piracy. That’s what has happened to Akbar Khan’s mega- budget magnanimous opus “Taj Mahalâ€.
In an urgently called press conference by Akbar Khan on Saturday, December 27, 2003, the filmmaker claimed that DVD’s and VCD’s bearing the imprint of his film “Taj Mahal An Eternal Love Story†were making rounds of the market but the copies inside the cover weren’t of his film. The CD played to show a film with a similar title “Taj Mahal - A Monument of Love†directed by Robin Khosla. Though Akbar Khan did not directly point fingers towards Robin Khosla, he didn’t deny the fact that there was a strong possibility of Khosla being involved in the process of maligning his reputation and film’s stature. Khan alleged that this might be Khosla’s gameplan to earn some easy money by selling his film on the name of Akbar Khan’s film
