I just bought the original 2 disk DDLJ DVD set, and the audio is off....I mean really bad, the diolouge comes out of the surround speaker! and the bass fluctuates..with the sound...

Now is this something any others here experianced, and the picture quality suck tooo...I'm going back to the store to return this today..

I bought it for 15 Canadian, now the lowest I've ever seen it before this was 26 CDN, but this is an original it came with the free CD and was in the same cover with holograms and all.

So any one else here experiance this?

I have a pirated K3G DVD and that rivals some english stuff man the sound is awesome, the picture is crisp and clear (I have a LCD and the screen size 110" and at that size the dvd gives a stunning picture with vibrant colours and deep dark blacks)

This DDLJ was total crap, I mean I've seen crap that looked better.

Has any one experienced this audio problem or is it a faulty batch?? I thought, DDLJ audio was pretty good??

zulm review at
http://www.zulm.net/modules....order=0

Audio:

Language/Formats: Hindi Dolby Digital 5.1
Subtitles: English, Arabic, Spanish, French, Hebrew, Malay and Japanese (including songs in all languages)
Source: 6/10 Clarity: 7/10
Comment: original 4 track sound manufactured to DD5.1, OK-ish results but would have preferred the original sound track

Can the audio mix-up be a result of converting 4.0 to 5.1??

I think, it should be pirated and not the original one.

I got similar dvd along with free CD in original packing when I bought it from a local store in Edison, New Jersey paying only US $10. It had vey bad picture quality so I went back to the store and the store owner told me that you will not get original YashRaj DVDs for 10 bucks. This pirated DVD did not have gold media where as most of the YashRaj dvds are on gold media except the recent releases like KMG.

During last week, I figured out that most of the pirated dvds won't be Macrivision Protected (Feature which will not allow you to make copy on VHS) whereas most of the YashRaj DVDs are Macrovision protected (Based on the DVDs owned by me).
So you can figure it out using "DVD Decryptor" software.

not only recent releases, but I think all their previous dvds are going to on silver media also. I got DDLJ from IW last month and its a silver disc and not a cardboard case like when it first released, but a regular dvd case, and no booklets or free cd. I think they are doing this with all their dvds, such as mohabbatein, k3g, etc. Also got KKHH from nehaflix last month, and that's also silver media.

The only way I can guarantee that I get the real DVDs is buying them from the wholesalers. When DDLJ came out on DVD, I was offered a 'real' copy for between $20-$32....a trained eye could see it was a fake. My brother and I each bought our own copies from a YashRaj wholesaler for around $32cdn, which I can live with. YR has always had the most expensive DVDs, and usually not worth the premium (check out the DVD of Jugnu if you don't believe me). I hope they don't flub up the Kal Ho Na Ho DVD. I'm guessing an interlaced DVD from a subpar beta master yet again, with wear and tear of the print "for the sake of nostalgia".

Nope that DVD will be progressive courtesy of Prasad Labs :)
They helped on Ayngaran DVD of Kaaka Kaaka and now Yash Raj DVDs will benefit from this since they also use Prasad Labs after viewing some of Ayngaran DVDs.

They have already copied Ayngaran style of quality menus, logo on film, and will now tax thier progressive quality and might also tax doing DTS-ES!!!

Progressive (Film mode NTSC) is a far cry. At best we may get a Film to NTSC telecine in Video Mode, and even that will be a first for Prasad if they succeed.

They for sure can succeed in making a Film to PAL telecine or Film mode PAL if they forget about NTSC.

Was DDLJ and DTPH ever released by eros too. As today I was watching Tridev and there Eros showed an add of DDLJ and DTPH as if they are released by them and manufactured by DEI :) .
I read somewhere though that some of you got hold of a copy of EROS DDLJ, if yes then could you post the screenshots it would be interesting to compare the screenshots of both eros and Yashraj versions.

To my knowledge, both "Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge" and "Dil To Pagal Hai" were released on DVD by Yash Raj Films. While the latter's print is quite good, the former is an atrocious excuse for a DVD (thought the extras on both are of an acceptable caliber).

Yet another dodgy DVD release from French distributor Bodega. This two disc set is basically just the YRF version repackaged, but also includes a DTS track - although it doesn't sound any better than the 5.1 audio to me. The cover claims that the video is taken from a "New Restored Master", which is a total lie as it is obviously just YRF's NTSC master converted to PAL with a ton of ugly edge enhancement. Lots of ghosting too, thanks to the conversion. Anyways, here's the screenshots (all captured in Force Weave mode)...
