Rumor has it that this film is under consideration for the Indian film Board to nominate it towards the Oscars for the best foreign film category???

Also the film is to be shown to the Indian PM sometime this week???

Has anyone seen this film, and if so can you explain to me what’s the hype about?

Subhash Ghai celebrates

By Taran Adarsh, September 23rd, 2003 - 0900 hrs IST

As October 24 draws nearer, speculation about Subhash Ghai's next film gathers steam. This year is special, for exactly 25 years ago, on October 24, 1978, Ghai had launched his banner, Mukta Arts.

So, besides celebrating his wedding anniversary on this date, Ghai will also celebrate the silver jubilee of his production outfit.

There's talk that Ghai is announcing multiple projects this year. Grapevine has it that the Showman is all set to start an ambitious project, which he will direct himself.

Besides, he is planning to start films with directors Raj Kanwar [cast under finalisation], Abbas-Mustan [Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Celina Jaitley] and Sanjay Chhel. There's another film with newcomers, titled KRSNA, we're told.

But Ghai continues to be non-committal. Says he, "Yes, I am working on various projects, but everything is unclear at the moment. Unclear, because I myself don't know what films would be ready for announcement on that date."

While Ghai is thrilled with the day-wise rise in the box-office collections of JOGGERS' PARK, he is on Cloud Nine that the Film Federation of India has expressed a desire to view the film and ascertain whether it could be included in the list of films submitted by the country for the Oscars.

Another reason why Ghai is jubilant is because the Dy. Prime Minister of India, L.K. Advani, and the Information & Broadcasting Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, expressed a desire to view JOGGERS' PARK. A special screening of the film was held for them on Monday evening [September 22] in New Delhi. Perizaad Zorabian was present on the occasion.

I finally saw the movie.

I thought it was a good movie, well-done and with a good message.

The acting by Mr. Chatterjee was exceptional. Truly amazing.

The actress was horrible.

The direction wasn't too great as the scenes were a bit disjointed and the movie dragged.

Honestly, it's a critic's type of film.
