I read someplace (cant remember where) that Kaante filming was complete and its well into post production now. IndiaFM are usually reliable in that kind of info.

when does information at Indiafm be incorrect it always facts they give....The only thing is we may not agree with their opinions on reviews e.t.c but just because we disagree dont make them incorrect.....

Yes The Shooting of Kaante is complete....All that remains now is post production work and special effects.....the music SHOULD be released in Febuary and the Movie in April

I wouldn't be too hyped about Kannte, firstly, it's won't be anything original, its a remake of Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs and plus the director (Sanjay Gupta) is a D class director making an A class project. He has made utter crap films in the past like Jung, Hamesha, and Aatish. The only promising thing about this film is that Anurag Kashyap is writing the film's dialogues and Screenplay. There is also suppose to be two versions of this film; one international version (duration: 90-95 mintues, all songs excluded) and one version for Indian Audiences (duration 120 mintues, including all songs).

The thing i don't understand, why would you want to show this film to an international audience, when its an exact ripp off a Hollywood film? That sounds a bit too pathatic!

I've read conflicting reports to what extent Kaante is going to resemble Reservoir Dogs - some have said its a mix of Usual Suspects and Reservoir Dogs with a mix of Godfather! ??? Agree Sanjay Gupta hasn’t made an original film to date Jung, Aatish and Kauff were scene by scene copies of Hollywood counter parts (in case of Aatish scene by scene copy of an Hong Kong film; A Better Tomorrow).

But then again Reservoir Dogs wasn’t an original story either just its execution was different from the film it mirrored - another Hong Kong film City on Fire.

Just to reiterate alis point so....it all depends how well the end product is in all aspects

hmmm ???
if they love the master of action flicks John Woo so much !!(A Better Tommorow, City On Fire, The Killer, Hard Boiled, MI:2)why dont they get him to direct one of their films ?!?!
after all if directors from the far east can go from HK to Hollywood surely bollywood can attract them too (barring language probs) :) :)
hahaha i even remember a Sunil Shetty film (Rakshak i think)having the same ending as John Woo's Hard Target(Van Damme):D :D :D :D
sorry to go off-topic but just suggesting that foreign talent may bring something different and original to Bollywood !

John Woo did not direct the 1987 film City on Fire. Ringo Lam directed the film. I remember when the media first threw this at Quentin Tarintino...he was in denial. The last 20 minutes of COF form the plot of Reservoir Dogs. QT did lift the look of the guys walking in line in black and sunglasses from A Better Tomorrow 2...which has one of the bloodiest endings ever!
