The premiere show of RAZIA SULTAN at Mumbai's Maratha Mandir theatre was simply extravagant. In an important sequence from the film, the emperor was shown feasting on biryani. To make the guests at the premiere feel the aroma of the biryani, director Kamal Amrohi specially ordered a huge 'kadhai' [cooking utensil] of biryani for the occasion. And as soon as the sequence came on screen, the specially-made biryani was placed near a storm fan, which resulted in the aroma of the biryani filling the theatre.
That's not all, for during the intermission, the guests at the premiere were presented with 'Razia Sultan games', 'Razia Sultan calendars', 'Razia Sultan snacks' etc. Also, the director made Hema Malini, who enacted the title role, sit on the huge 'jhoola' [swing] placed near the hoarding of the film
