Sunny, do you have any status on the new dvd of Kannathil Muthamittal? When is it coming out and will it have subtitles for the songs?

The DVD is on hold as Ratnam is busy with his Hindi film. After the Hindi film he will shoot the Tamil version in Aug. During Sept he will edit the Hindi film and during Oct and Nov he will edit the Tamil version. Only then he will be free to supervise the DVD of Kanathil.

Thanks a bunch! I will wait........... It is wonderful to know that Mr. Ratnam is going to supervise the creation of the dvd himself.

Sunny,

Do you know if Ayngaran has any plans on doing the 'Nayakan' dvd?. I never seen the movie, but heard a lot of good things about it.

Alay Pauthey will be on hold as Ayngaran are waiting for Saathiya to die down. Once it has they have big big plans for Alay Pauthey...But right now I cannot say anything.

Nayakan rights have run out with Pyramid and this is a title that is in a middle of the bidding war. I think it is one of the best Indian films of the 1980's.

But its not enterely liked by many Indian audiences as the film is quite racist towards the Maharastrian and Telugu community. However there is a Hindi dubbed version (Velu Nayakan) which eliminates the racist remarks. Firoze Khan also remade the film in the 1989 called Dayavan but this film is filled with awful acting and a dead screenplay.

Sunny..any chance of Ayngaran re-releasing Uyire with the hindi audio,tamil audio,maybe DTS and progressive transfer?

Seems like everyday we're asking Sunny about one DVD or another :)

Is Ayngaran releasing Kovilpatti Veeralakshmi? I've read that it is good, but flopped at the box office.
