Obviously they can't reply without electricity :ffs:

Just got power here in NY few hours ago. It wasn't so bad, other than the heatwave of high 90F ???

Here in Markham, Ontario. The light/electricity came back at exactly 6:13 AM on friday morning. It went off at about 4:11 PM on Thursday afternoon. During that night, I simply could not get my sleep. It was incredibly hot! without the support of air-conditioning. Just earlier today, I spent 1 hour & 40 mintues in a long line-up to fill up gas in my dad's car. This whole blackout dilemma has caused my entire weekend plans to go haywire.

Here in Missisauga, we got our electricity back at around 12:30am on Friday morning. It was so incredibly hot though, as Mr. Collector stated, so getting through the night was a bit rough. Thankfully that was over, although many areas are still feeling the affects of it. There are many businesses and areas still closed cuz no electricity. Gas stations, lines for 2-3 blocks even! Still getting back into it

Ditto for the most part except here in Woodbridge, Ontario we got our electricity back @ 2am Friday Morning. Luckily water never stopped unlike some areas. There were a lot of pedestrian accidents caused by traffic signal outages and 911 the day of the outage could not make most areas in time, same with the fire department. Things are now getting back to normal, there were suppose to random hydro outages but nothing affected the Woodbridge area so far.

hey all. Yeah we were pretty much stuck without electricity for the whole day Thursday... but we got our electricity back here in Scarborough around 5-6 am Friday morning. However with the whole city in commotion, most of my cable channels were knocked out till today (including B4U and TMN channels) and I didn't get my internet till just now... AND to add worse news, I have already been affected by the rolling blackouts as my electricity was cut off again this morning - from 9 - 11 am.

So yeah... it has been hell - with the heat and boredom, it was bad, but we got through it.... Arshbhai, you guys are lucky that u didn't get hit by it!!!

On the plus side, life is returning back to normal and I just got back from Tere Naam which is an EXCELLENT film!! I'll talk about it more in the tere naam thread, but lets just say that all of you in Toronto should go see it in the Kennedy Commons theatre!

Here in Nova Scotia....no sign on the blackout. We have a few coal and oil fired plants..and are not on that grid.

Luckily left the NY area for Florida on Thursday at 9 am, so missed the blackout by a couple of hours. Couple of friends had some problems in NYC but everything's normal now.

Our neighbourhood got power back before 10PM on thursday, although rest of Ottawa waited for another 4 to 48 hrs. Unfortunately, this was no help in accessing the net as my home PC had already developed a problem.
