Warner has done very few DTS titles. Maybe they don't see it as a big selling point, even though most of the other studios use it fairly regularly.

Interview with the Vampire also. I can't remember what else.

I'm glad that Warner is using the Amaray case for this release instead of the crappy cardboard case.

I finished watching Matrix: Reloaded on dvd and it kicks ass.
I enjoyed the movie even more and didn't even started with the extras.

Picture Quality: 4.8/5 (nothing's perfect!) :) 98% of the movie looks great. Some scenes that takes place in the human city underground doesn't look all that good. Great black levels and colors are nice too. It defenatly looks better than the first matrix dvd pq. The green's richer.
:tounge:

Sound Quality: 4.5/5 The DD 5.1 does its job. No EX mix here, unless you force EX processing on the soundtrack. It surprised me that for a action movie, it has a very mellow sound track. You have to push the volume couple of -db's up to get that thump going. The highway scene sounds great!

Overall I don't regret the fact that I had to pay MSRP to get the dvd early. People may disagree on the merit of the movie itself, but no one can deny that it's kick ass dvd.

matrix reloaded R1 extras:

"Preload" - go behind the scenes with the cast and crew:

This is your generic kiss ass interviews with the cast and crew. But no interviews with the directors are included.

"The Freeway Chase" - anatomy of the mind-blowing scene:

This segment was my favorite because it went indepth on how they shot each event that happened in the freeway chase scene.

"Enter The Matrix" - making of the groundbreaking video game:

Advertisment for a crappy game. skip it.

What Is The Animatrix?:

The same or a similar segment was included in the ANIMATRIX dvd.

"The Matrix Unfolds" - a look at the Matrix phenomenon:

Another crappy segment about how Joel Silver loves the matrix.

"Get Me An Exit" - Matrix-inspired design advertising:

This segment is on the assistant director for The matrix movies and how he was hired to shoot the many corny powerade ads.

The MTV Movie Awards Reloaded:

A real funny sketch, but can get annoying really fast.

The extras doesn't even come close to the Matrix 1 dvd. WB also decided to skip on the trailers, except for the 'revolution' one found after the movie credits.

Don't buy this DVD...wait for a another year as the director's have publicly stated that they will re-release all three films sometime in the future...with better special features and improved picture/sound quality...

Me I wait for the D-VHS versions :D IF Warner ever releases them!!

I wouldn't count on those D-VHS releases if I were you. It seems that only Fox, Artisan, Universal, and Dreamworks support the format.

Warner will come out the inevitable Matrix Triology Box Set in 2004, hopefully with a new transfer for Matrix 1.

But right now I am having too much fun watching Trinity falling down with 2 guns blazing in slo-mo over and over and over.... :D
