Yes I am sure this will be another Angoor style DVD... authored from a Beta Master ... Hence no chance of getting a progressive print !...but for diehards like BludHound... this will be the "best" available version :D

The photos and title logo on the cover look like screenshots, and that too from a poor quality transfer. The border looks a little like the one Samrat uses.

This version of Coolie doesn't look very good. I have the Angoor DVD by indiaweekly, not exactly high quality stuff. Come on DEI/BEI, Parvarish was an excellent start, keep going...don't know if they have the rights to this Desai/AB movie, but it would be nice to get a really good print of this one since it was one of the last Desai/AB greats (Mard followed in 1985 and GJS in 1989 ended the Desai/AB era on a sad crappy note....yet they have GJS on DEI/BEI...go figure)

The short movie option is a nice feature, if properly executed. Angoor wasn't really a good choice to implement this, since there aren't many wasteful scenes in Angoor besides the songs. As a result, they ended up cutting important sequences leaving the narrative incoherent. Can't comment on Coolie because I don't remember it that well, so we'll see how it goes. A movie like MPKDH is one that could really use this feature. That 3 1/2 hour crap fest can easily be boiled down to around 6 minutes.

Shuman bhai don't be so transparent I could see that animosity for IQ still. :D It will be good to wait for $2.99 price :D

Hey I remember Sandish telling me once that the rights for this film are held by the Hinduja Brothers..(along with Sholay).. so there is no way that IW could have got an original Negative of this film and transferred it onto a DVD... You can make your own guesses... Only this time, there wont be KkBhai to give us those "doctored" screenshots :p

I thought they held the rights to Naseeb, not Sholay - don't Eros have the Sholay rights?
