yeah no problem arsh bhai and yeah its ok about the delay Ali!

ok i just saw the movie aswell and actually I thought it was very well made drama/thriller kinda like Jism (except there's no sexuality or adult content). Most of the cast was wasted but John Abraham was excellent in his role and yes I also agree that he's gonna be around for a long time. The movie was genuinely suspenseful and the payoff was actually surprising and fit well within the context of the movie. The songs was sensational. I would prefer this movie over Bhoot anyday (but that was ok aswell) and I prefer these types of movies over your normal stuff like Chalte Chalte/ MPKDH... Hope the Bhatts keep this kinda filmmaking coming....

And yes perhaps my review is biased because I haven't seen the original movie (Dragonfly) that this movie rips off.... however even if this is a direct copy, it is VERY WELL MADE and deserves atleast one look, especially for the music, cinematography and John Abraham's acting.

The video wasn't bad for this DVD either, with some great colours and some ok detail (sharper than usual). The 5.1 sound is awesome though!! It's too bad we don't have any extras...

I agree with u DARIUS..here are my 2 cents..that I left this morning:

http://www.zulm.net/cgi-bin....t=5816;

This is A STYLISH/ELEGANT flick, that does not even make you not to view with FAMILY>>

I loved, CAMERA WORK, this new CINEMATOGRAPHER and SET DESGNER need 2 thumbs up!!Fawad Khan..is the guy to look forward to..He used CAMERA ANGLES and Captured scenes, EXTREMELY TASTEFULLY, IMHO..COLOR PELLET is very tasteful too..

BTW!! Darius, na MAHIMA ka CLOSE UP, NA ZOHRA SEHGAL KA, NA CHOTE BACHE KA!!

I think, u like LONG DISTANCE PANORAMA SHOTS>>? ??? :baaa:

The DVD by Spark itself though I found to be quite a bit choppy. Nearing the end intervals of the film, nearing the climax, it was very choppy, including the "Forthcoming" portion of the DVD. Extremely choppy!! Did anybody else have this problem?

yeah arshbhai - i tried giving screencaps of the dazzling cinematography and set design... who cares about a closeup of mahima when u could see her walking down in the middle of traffic - i have NEVER seen india looking like it did in that scene!!! And also look at that shot of John in the jeep with all the blue lighting!! Isn't that scene just gorgeous to look at!!

yeah sorry i guess i should have included caps of Mahima... but of Zohra Sehgal :oh: :oh:

Oh and am i on crack or does Tara Sharma look really really nice here ??? I think that even though Mahima is just GORGEOUS, i think Tara beat her here....

OK!! darius, got ur point, now my point is, those panoramic shots, dont do justice, to what you and me have seen in the film..the way, that cinematographer, captured, india/bombay/din/raat/traffic/freeway. rain etc..has to be seen to understand, what I am talking about, this kinda cinematography/angles you only see in HOLLYWOOD films..REMARKABLE!!
In STUPID films of BOLLYWOOD, like CC/K3G/MPKHD etc, you see OVERSEAS LOCALES, but NOT THIS KINDA TASTEFUL< WORLDCLASS CINEMATOGRAPHY! every day!

Now..Tara Sharma..that LYRIL GIRL, has INNOCENT face(important for this role, i am glad Bipasha was not casted for this role) and Million dollar smile!! I agree..She still has to proove as an actress and learn how to speak, but her role was like this, did not hurt her much..

Mahima..had very small role..and is WASTED IMHO..her little bit presence was as mature an actress like her could be!! But she looked much older and not as CUTE as tara, and even not the way she looked in DHT!

Zohra Sehgal..Late..Lord bless her soul...looked ancient, and as it was one of her last living presence..she reminded me of MOTHER TERESA!

The church, song..the girl, has such a good mature facial expressions, but ofcourse, she was no TARA!!

John abraham..basically, carried film on his shoulders..his DIOLOGUES, Voice looked ALIEN to me, he sounded like AFTAB in KASOOR, may be it was same pERSON, who DUBBED for BOTH?

His acting was PRETTY GOOD! for this role..But ofcourse he NEEDS to mature to proove his VERSATILITY..

OVERALL, SAAYA, was GOOD ENOUGH, to OVERCOME , BAD AFTER TASTE in my mouth, after watching.DUMB..CHALTE CHALTE..

BHOOT and SAAYA are 2 very different films and are NO WAY SIMILLAR, and BOTH need to be watched on their OWN MERITS>>

BHOOT..had a GREAT FACE VALUE, due to RGV and million dollar CAST!! that SAAYA lacked!!

I just saw this dvd. Pic quality is so much better than Bhoot. 5.1 was nice, nothing overdone. The songs were really good especially 'O Saathiya'. The whole part about her baby didn't make sense to me. :hmm: Overall an ok watchable movie.
