Okay folks, just had a long conversation with Sandish @DEI. Firstly he mentioned that he was pretty upset with the post here on zulm vis-a-vis DEI doing .... MEA....(as posted by arsh !)... In future this is what he said..."If anyone phones DEI regarding future releases..and MAL picks up the phone then the reply would be a cryptic no comment"

Now for the news here :-

FACT 1 :- DEI will be doing PAKEEZAH...(not immediately but they have sealed the contract for that film )...quoted by SANDISH

FACT 2 :- DEI will be doing Angoor and a tentaive release date has been provided by Sandish ( March 15th )... So all you Angoor Fans ( including me) please wait for this DVD !

These 2 facts should silence the critics / skeptics

Now for their upcoming releases...which can be forgotten :-

1.) Satyameva Jayate ( to be avoided )

2.) Mahachor ( to be avoided )

3.) An Evening in Paris ( your choice..to buy or not to buy )

4.) Justice Chowdhary ( Yeah !.... Double meanings Zindabad !)

5. ) Kashmir Ki Kali ( strongly recommended !)

6.) And Sadma...( which they are in the process of doing it right now...but for some technical glitches)



Lastly Sandish admitted shortcomings by DEI vis-a-vis Kohinoor and Bees Saal Baad...

Hope this post rests all doubts about this controversy

I don't think you can blame Arsh since the info is coming from DEI with varying degree of accuracy. They should just ignore what’s been posted here and concentrate on getting there DVDs right - its not like this info is having any profound effect :where:

After Abhay - YDA is another dismal DVD from DEI. Not only is video lacking, the video jumps from anamorphic to non-anamorphic for a song, menus are buggy and they refuse to acknowledge and amend the squashed video problem – yet they get upset by info posted here by the incorrect info given out by their own company :doze:

Right now I don't trust a word Sundish says. He has some nerve getting upset about postings at Zulm,he should apologize to us for putting out crap to make a quick buck. His admission is not an apology and I can say for sure there will be more crappy transfers like Bees saal baad and kohinoor from DEI as the name of the game is HOW TO MAKE A QUICK BUCK. I have been reading these posts and I must say they show a clear emotional bias. I dunno what (mis)communication DEI passed onto folks here, but I can be atleast satisfied by the fact that Sandish actually spoke with me. I am sure MAL or the receptionist picked up the phone and I did not pursue any conversation with her. I mentioned that to folks here that Sandish is the final authority vis-a-vis any film that may be authored.

Okay Folks you are criticizing him for BSB and K..fair enough...he atleast had the BALLS to admit his shortcomings..compare that with folks at EROS, Yashraj... do they even bother to explain to the consumers what they are doing and do they care anything abt Quality or stuff ?

As for YDA, and Abhay I yesterday clearly criticized him for the choices of films he was choosing. I was hopeful he might bid for some big budgeted films coming this year but he said that at least one of them is ruled out and it may end up with Videosound The second Big budgeted film, ...well think abt it....it may end up with DEI (who knows)

As for the suqishy problem, all said and done... I too agree Sandish hasnt changed there. Maybe he needs some real hard shocks to wake him up, but frankly folks tell me this..who would worry abt Squishy-ness, when you have bad DVDs like the ones flooded by EROS and Videosound ?

Its good to criticize, but it is also sensible if we make that some form of constructive criticism...DEI is one of the few companies which (at least) listens to viewers comments. Try that with EROS/Yashraj etc !....

Just a reminder...DEI has obtained the rights for YATEEM ( the Sunny Deol starrer )

Com' On FOLKS; Lets not say anything negative at this moment. Wait untill PAKEEZAH & ANGOOR comes out.

Stormy, then if you are so concerned abt your hard earned money ( hmmm I wonder what is our money then ?...) then you should have waited and read the reviews here before buying the DVDs....many ppl were actually thankful to Lakeshore for bringing out the defects in those DVds ( aka the Famous ZULM BAKRA !)

As for him speaking to me, like I said..it all boils down to how to want to communicate with folks... I tried to do that with Yashraj but they never transferred me to the superior authorities... The receptionist always did the talking...
Here in this case I firmly stated that I was interested in speaking only with Sundish..and I got him online... and hence IT DOES MAKE DEI a lil bit different from YRF and EROS....

As Shuman had stated, lets wait till Angoor and Pakeezah are released..If they disappoint me then I will take back my restraint...

The truth will come out with "An Evening in Paris" and Kashmir Ki Kali", which already were available in very good prints from EVP. I am sure DEI will bring even better prints. It will be nice to see a screen shot comparison (EVP's "An Evening in Paris" screen shots are already on zulm.net courtsey sknath). I think sknath mentioned somewhere that he has EVP Kashmir Ki Kali as well.

In regards to "Mission Kashmir" Columbia TriStar said they might buy the rights to this movie if the sales of the Lagaan DVD are good. By the way does anyone know if the Lagaan DVD is doing good business or not?
