BOLLYWOOD BUSINESS IN CANNES! Films with Aishwarya and Tabu find buyers!
Bollywood's attempts to create new business opportunities at the Cannes Film Festival have worked. Director Gurinder Chadha negotiated impressive terms with Miramax Films for the American rights to her forthcoming film 'Pride and Prejudice: The Bollywood Musical' starring Aishwarya Rai. Meanwhile, Twentieth Century Fox has bought the Indian theatrical rights to the period Epic 1857 The Rising, also starring Aishwarya Rai alongside Aamir Khan. Finally director Vishal Bhardwaj has sold the worldwide rights to his film Fair Is Soul, which is Bollywood's very own version of the Shakespeare classic Macbeth, starring the likes of Tabu, Irfan Khan, Om Puri and Naseerudin Shah. South African powerhouse Distant Horizon snapped up the modern day remake of Macbeth, which takes place amongst the Bombay underworld
