i was wondering whether you think extras-laden DVDs like the YRF ones make up for their only decent video with very, very good extras?

eg. today, i watched my taal and kkhh dvds - both anamorphic. the former by eros, and the latter by YRF. i must say, that the KKHH dvd makes up for its middling dvd quality with informative, interesting, and good extras - in comparison, the taal dvd doesn't really have that much extras - on paper, it seems like it has a lot, but it doesn't really have much...

so what do you think - do really really good extras, like the ones you get in DDLJ, DTPH, KKHH, Mohabbatein, and K3G (<--- interestingly, all YRF...) make up for their half decent video? :keh:

Yes. KKHH was a good film, and the extras help to lift it.

The EROS DVD's in 1999 only had coming attractions, running successfully, and available on DVD.

Others like Mohabbatein, MYKSH, and Deewane can't be saved at all!

I don't watch most extras on most discs more than once or twice, so the video and audio quality have to be good.

And in the case of DVDs like DIL CHAHTA HAI all I can NOW watch are the extras....which are great without doubt, except I really, really, really dont get how the feature DVD went bad leaving the extras DVD without a problem.....its straight out of Ripley's Believe It or Not series !!!!

LOL, I know what you mean, Aarkayne. If the extras disc rotted I wouldn't have cared, but that's the only working disc in the set. Well, I can watch part of the movie. :angry:

I have to remember to tape DCH when it airs on TCM since I'm not spending another penny on a disc that will probably die in a few months.

i'd rather YRF shelved the extras and pass the savings in the price of their dvd's and improve the quality :D
