Lagaan

I was talking about theaters and not dvds. The problem is a lot of us wait for the dvd and miss out the DTS or proper DD 5.1 presentation. That is why BEi is such a safe bet. They make proper dvds unlike Eros or Video Sound.

As for the Lagaan dvd or Mission Kashmir dvd...even though CT did a great job, if you haven't heard it in DTS then you aint heard nothing yet.....

I guess you are referring to Theatrical screenings of Indian movies only.

Otherwise, I'm sure, most zulmies have enjoyed proper DTS, SDDS and DD Hollywood films in theatres.

Except for some High tech films, all other films seem to have better (may be louder, but to my liking) sound in trailers than in the movie.

LAGAAN and MK in DTS were EXTREMELY GOOD, BETTER than CT DVD sound track! IMHO!

For DVD and DYNAMICS, I will use ASOKA as #1 from a FOREIGN Comp..

Just cause the movie's in DTS doesn't mean it's gona sound great. If the theater has lousy speakers and wiring, it doesn't matter if it's DTS, THX or whatever, it's gona sound like $hit.

I live in Houston, the theaters that play indian movies here have crappy sound systems. The 5.1DD sound i hear through my boston acoustics speakers at home sounds alot better than the crappy sound system they have in the theaters!!

out!!!!!

True...but crappy dvds are not going to help much either even if you have great sounding equipment...e.g Jungle dvd. At least in theaters a well made film will sound ok. The only problem I face sometimes is that non DTS theaters play DTS films and I end watching in Dolby Stereo or mono!

For dvd in terms of dynamics, I will still go for DEi's Dil Se...the closest theaters experience I have had so far. And in terms of aesthetics, I will still go for Lagaan or MK...
