Kiran Shroff and Kushan Nandy's 88 Antop Hill is India's first designed sound-oriented film. To counteract piracy makers have often tried to be different to draw the audience to the theatres. 88 Antop Hill is India's first film to start off with a sound effects script.

The reason for this is that since 88 Antop Hill is a 'scare' film, particularly highlighting fear and effect, sound played an important role. Sound was designed with a particular format that could be only enjoyed when viewed in the theatre. Internationally a lot of films like What Lies Beneath and The Ring have done this. The design and format of the sound is Dolby Ex-Surround. The Theatres not having this facility would also to be able to play the sound.

88 Antop Hill is a story about five people (a common man, a prostitute, a to-be-millionaires, a cop and a blackmailer) and an address. An address that changes all their lives. The film is being released on May 30 by Shringar Films. Produced by Kiran Shroff and directed by Kushan Nandy.

Dolby Ex is not new in Hindi films. However I don't think many films have made correct use of the format. I hope this film will be different.
