Sunny,

I believe it was you that mentioned that Shemaroo was authoring a new version of Devdas. Any info on it?

Shouldn't you phone EROS and ask them instead??? They would know for sure if they have done it...

I can only tell you what I have learned from Indian companies. At that time I was told that EROs has plans to release three versions of Devdas...version is out now...version two I have no idea and the English version is coming soon.

oye, if you were going to get all angry(?) over the question, then i take it back... ???

and yes, i will promptly dial long-distance to call up a company to ask when a dvd is coming out...yes, i will do that...

they saids that there will be 2nd version wehich will be the erxact same but in a regular case that will coast less and then the eng dubb one

i actully ph them because my dvds still didnt arrive so i also asked them about devdas and kaantee ( kaante is sappoused 2 realese in the nex 3 weeks)
by the way never order anything from their site.

Shemaroo did do a new transfer of Devdas for Eros. I know this for a fact cuz I got an email back from Shemaroo telling me they did a new transfer of this film for DVD. I don't think Eros has released the Shemaroo version yet. I would think Eros had Shemaroo do a new transfer of this movie for the English DVD of Devdas. After all if Americans see double images when playing Devdas back on a HDTV they going to demand a refund.

i know they will make the new transfer realse in the eng dubbed version which wont even have a hindi track and for the second realse they will keep the same 2 disk version out now in a differnt cheaper cover with the same transfer :ffs:

i prank called the head guy at eros saying that it is ct and interested in buying the rights 4 devdas dvd and the guy said they will not be selling the rights even for the eng. version and they have the rights 4 10 years and plan 2 keep it scince it is a classic so we are screwed and yeppy 4 nuthin i was waitin 4 a better transfer so i bought the damn dvd from indiaweekly and the only one that will have a better transfer is the eng. one that wont feature a hindi track and i know it wont be as good as dei stuff :ffs: :ffs: :ffs: :ffs: :ffs:
