Izzy, which city are you from?? Whether I-MAX or regular Big Screen Big Sound theatre with proper audio se-up and matching film print is fine for me.

Are you talking of Silver City in Toronto?? Traveling to Toronto (450 KM) is fine, but any longer distance is not worth it.

Please let us know as soon as you find out if and when THE HERO is playing in a BIG SCREEN BIG SOUND theatre. I don't want to miss out on this one if there are limited # of showings in good theatres.

Movie does not have to be good to be seen in a good theatre, it should have been made to be seen in a grand theatre. THE HERO fits the bill.

BTW, I wonder if Sunny's papa Dharmendra will show up in Toronto theatres where The Hero will be shown?? He will be in Toronto this weekend for his Vaisakhi show.

Dharmendra still has a huge fan following in Toronto. His name alone is enough to sell out a show. But, the main performer will be BABBU MANN. And Babbu Mann's upcoming movie HAWAAIEN is to watch for. It'll be much better than Jee Ayan Nu.

I-MAX show sold out in advance in Vancouver. No sign of Big Screen Big Sound show in Toronto. Do the distributors know their business??

Rana

BTW Izzy, it will be nice to know whether they just screened it on to the I-MAX screen using regular 35mm print or if they really did blow up a 35mm print on to a 70mm film?? Blowing up to 70mm happens often for Hollywood films and rarely on to real I-MAX film.

I've seen advertisements in the paper for "enhanced 35mm" screenings of films on Imax screens. I have no idea what this means. I remember seeing the ad for Lord of the Rings, and maybe Daredevil also played this way. Wasn't Taal or some film shown in Imax in Toronto? Was that 70mm or 35mm?

Enhanced 35mm is still a 35mm print but supposedly specially made for super large screens. Regular 35mm print will not give good projection on a super large screen and therefore they use or should use a film print with 'color, contrast etc' adjusted for larger than normal screens.

All previous Indian Film presentations (Taal, Devdas, and many others) at Toronto Cinesphere I-MAX have been 35mm projections. Even though not 70mm or enhanced 35mm, they were the best presentations. Better than AMC and other Big Screen Big Sound theatres. Albion and Woodside, they don't have proper Audio capability, but the projection is OKish.

As done in the case of STAR TREK and many other Hollywood movies, they do use 'blown up to 70mm' prints for Premium/Premiere screenings on super large screens. The main reasons is Publicity.

i came back from watching the movie at imax. the movie was good. they used 70mm print and when ever there used to be a scene with fire/bombs they made the room really hot. and when ever it was snowing or cold in the movie they made the room really cold the sound was dts this was the best expireance i ever had better than the imax versions of kkhh. taal, hddcs, knph, refugee, k3g, kaante, saathiya, and devdas they will be showing boot, andaaz, mpkdh, kmg, and l.o.c as far as i know of
