There is an original song of Punjabi MC, and then there is one where Jay Z raps on it a little. I think its time Indian music has come mainstream, because this is that song everyone here in S Florida loves, because they play it 10 times a day.

Hip Hop is getting some serious hits from mixing Indian music. Producers like Timbaland, Neptunes and Just Blaze are making some sick beats out of Indian music.

Indian pop star Rajeshwari did a remix with Slum Village for their song disco, its really good and it's the only song I've seen credit the Indian hook singer.

not really heard it... but i bet its whack.. that track mundian to bach ke rahe (beware of the boyz) was released here in the UK nearly 4 or 5 years ago.. and it was a wicked track.. and it still is, but its just annoying seeing some dodgy smelly gora trying to sing along to it now!!

Anyway Death Row Records, actually considered signing up a UK artist called Mark Morrison years back.. he did a track with Daz Dillinger called bakstabbers.. which was initially produced and remixed by PMC.. it is a very good track!!

Beware of the boys is an alright song, it relies too much on the background jungle beats. Certainly not one of the best Punjabi songs out there. IMO, Bally Sagoo does some crazy ass remixes to classic punjabi songs.

out of curiousity, has PMCs track his the charts in the US and how well did it do!!

Talking about mainstream bhangra, i recently got a promotional track Nachna Onda Nee by the glasgwegian brothers called Tigerstyle.. it is a remix - revamped version of a old track that was released many years ago a bit like PMCs mundian to bach ke... so wat u guys think, is it fad or is it here to stay!!

Beware of the Boys (the original) is being released April 15 along with the Jay-Z remix of it in the US + Canadian market. Also, the song will be on Jay-Z's forthcoming album, The Blueprint 2.1. So, we'll find out soon how the US market reacts to it...

anyways, truthfully while mundiyan to bach ke is a nice track, i can't see what the fuss is all about - it was all nice 4 yrs ago (as faddy mentioned), but what goras find so appealing, i have yet to understand...perhaps its the knight rider beat?

also, personally, i don't think bhangra or for that matter indian music is going places in the USA atleast. the UK is a dif situation because of the large amount of desis, but here it's a dif story - witness "react"- the indian stuff was just to laugh at...

well, atleast its getting noticed :)

I have seen the video with Rajeshwari, and it's alright. I think though, that hip hop shouldn't steal from Indian music, even if hip hop is going through a boring phase. 50 Cents and all the other boring rappers I guess better mix a song with some Indian beats, because they bore me!
