Vivek: Threatened by Salman?
According to the buzz, Vivek Oberoi has sought protection from Mumbai Police after allegedly recieving threatening calls from Salman Khan. If reports are to be believed, Salman has threatened Vivek to keep off Aishwarya Rai. Vivek Oberoi and Aishwarya Rai are costars in Samir Karnik's Kyo Ho Gaya Na. There were rumors of Ash and Vivek being more than just friends and now with this sensational news, things seem to have gone out of hands for Vivek. Its bare a few months since Salman and ASh had terminated their torrid affair that had cause much heartache and sent media in a tizzy. Vivek too had recently broken off with his girlfriend. This happens just when the media is going overboard heralding a new improved Salman Khan who has resolved to behave himself. Ash to seemed to have moved on in life. But then, some things never change, do they?!

I wonder what defence can Sallu come up with this time. I still don't understand how he got away with murder. He should hanged till death...or at the very least, be imprisoned for life. If he can't be proven guilty for murder, he can darn well be charged for criminally bad acting.

I think the only way to get rid of Salman is to have him killed. He seems to get off lightly all the time, he got off killing those deers, beating Aishwarya and killing that person last year. I think he has alot of political and underworld connections to get off so lightly. People are saying he's the most disliked person in the Industry at the moment and most of his films are flops, but why do people still sign him for their films? The last I heard is he's gonna play Lord Rama...someone like him playing Lord Rama is a big joke, but I think this is his weak attempt at getting back into the average indians good books and hope that people will think he's a reformed character and will forgive him.

"Vivek Oberoi called for a press conference just a while ago alleging that Salman Khan threatened him. Vivek had recently gone down south for a meeting with filmmaker Mani Rathnam when one of his well wishers called him and asked him not to come back immediately since Salman and his bodyguards were allegedly looking for him and threatening to kill him. Enraged by this, Vivek immediately returned and called a press conference at his residence, and related the incident live on television. He even revealed that he had received no less than 41 phone calls allegedly from Salman, and that the latter spoke very rudely with him saying, “Who do you think you are? You are a bad guy just like me...So you’re having an affair with Aishwarya, Diya Mirza, Rani Mukherjee, Somy Ali?” Vivek couldn’t believe that he was not only being paired off with his co-stars but also with Somy Ali, who he had met only once some six or seven years earlier. Vivek even claimed that Salman spoke very crudely about his (Vivek’s) ex-fiancee Gurpreet and even bad mouthed Mr Suresh Oberoi. At the end of the conversation, Vivek claimed that Salman threatened to come over immediately and kill him. He surmised that the Khan was under the influence of alcohol. After threatening him, Salman then called him again claiming that he was too tired and that they would continue the fight another day. Well, the press conference was real - saw it on Star News. Was kinda random though.....Vivek was saying Salman was threatening him, and then burst into tears.....so it could be a joke, but would someone joke about death and underworld connections?

Well regardless, if it's true or false, Salman is a nutcase and has completely lost it and needs to be put down a.s.a.p!

I don't think people would joke about the underworld, plus it's a known fact that Salman like to hang out with gangsters and there are even pics of him posing for pics with them. Salman picks on anyone, a while back he had beat up Rishi Kapoor's son for some stupid reason. His father always has to step in and appologise for his sons actions. If this thing is a big joke, then Vivek has a sick mind.

MUMBAI/NEW DELHI: Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi alleged on Tuesday that filmstar Salman Khan had abused him and threatened to kill him.

"On Saturday night between 12.30 am. and 5 am, an inebriated Salman called me as many as 41 times on my mobile, threatening and abusing me, alleging that I was having affairs with his former girl friends, Aishwarya Rai and Somy Ali and co-stars Rani Mukherji and Diya Mirza," Vivek said at a press conference at his residence in Juhu. "He even hinted about his links with the underworld and threatened to kill me."

Salman, however, denied calling Vivek 41 times and laughed away the entire incident saying, "Vivek is a kid who is paranoid about something." He denied mentioning the underworld to Vivek.

Vivek, the 27-year-old star of films such as Company, Road and Saathiya , alleged that Salman also abused his father and actor, Suresh Oberoi, and his former fiancee, Gurpreet.

Minutes after his press conference in Mumbai, Vivek spoke exclusively to The Times of India on what had prompted him to turn his

ire against Bollywood’s ‘poster boy for bad behaviour’ Salman.

"Enough is enough," he said. "Someone has to put pressure on Salman — be it his family, the media or me — to make him accountable." Vivek feels his cinematic colleague "needs psychiatric help not just for his unacceptable behaviour but also for his problem with alcoholism, his attitude towards women and for his warped sense of machoism."

He said: "Aishwarya called me on April 30 morning and said Salman had been sending her messages the previous night in which he said he was a ‘real man’ and was ‘not scared of Vivek Oberoi’. The messages also contained threats about how he would ‘fight Vivek’ in order to prove who the ‘real man’ was. Ash wanted to know if all was well. It was then that I told her that Salman had been calling me all night, threatening and abusing me."

Vivek said Aishwarya broke up with Salman over six months ago and that she doesn’t take his calls anymore. "She is free to see whom she wants, get married, have an affair... he has no business to harass her like this."

Is Oberoi planning to get extra security following this threat? "The cops did come and take a statement from me but I’m not sure that I want to initiate legal proceedings against Salman. Please understand, I am not a vindictive person."

A few years ago it was reported that Salmans brother got into a bit of trouble and was heard shouting that he ruled Mumbai (I think he had watched Satya too many times).

The Khan brothers are a joke.

Funny that vivek is seking protection why dont he box the $hit out of salman. vivek was a amateur state level boxer. Eros could organise one of them celebrity punch ups like we get on UK television every now and then for charity.

I think this news is entirely false, but I do hope its true, so that Salman can, ONCE AGAIN, get his ass whipped by the public.

Here is a segment of the IndiaFM.com article that talks about the incident:

"Vivek claimed that Salman called him 41 times that night and abused him in the choicest of expletives, accusing Vivek of having "physical relationships with Aishwarya Rai, Rani Mukherji, Diya Mirza and Somy Ali," Vivek revealed."

If you take notice, the amount of calls were 41 CALLS.

41 calls...hmmm....even if it was 40 or 42 calls I would believe it, or any other number.

But 41 means 4 (which stands for the 4th month of the year) and 1 (which stands for the first day of the month) or 04/01/03 (April 1st 2003)

I have to say that this news is false, and that this is an elaborate hoax to fool the internet fans that this is true.

Check any other article, it also talks about "41 CALLS". If it were any other number I would say the news is true.

Guys....why go by what other publications write about the conference....surely you can decide for yourself after listening to it...i dont think there was any element of prank (and if it does turn out to be so, it is a rather elaborate and unfortunate one).....listen to it yourself and make up your mind......personally i think its a rather sorry time for the person involved....seriously if he allowed his name to be used thus for even a prank, calls for his head to be examined !!!!!

Thanks for the link, Aarkayne. It is indeed stark listening and Vivek even says that he wished it was but it isn't an April Fool's joke. You go, Vivek! Stand up to that loser.
