Just saw Brotherhood of the wolf (le Pacte des loups). This huge French import although a bit too long (nearly 150 minutes) does have some amazing sequences, period feel and tons of gore but still worthseeing. Even with some real cheesy special effects it's still incredible piece of movie making. very original even with stuff that has been around.

It is a impressive film, Vincent Cassel is fast becoming one of my fav actors having seen him wonderful French films like La Hanie, Crimson Rivers, Amile, Metisee & the BOFW. I've already pre-ordered the limited 2 disc edition DVD of this film coming out in France real soon!

The DVD has only French subtitles :( Crimson Rivers is good, another hot action Vincent Cassel movie to check out is Dobermann - top (over the top! ) action sequences! BTW Vincent Cassel also did the dubbing of one the characters on Shrek :0

Finally had the chance to watch this film and its got that WOW factor. Amazing set pieces, thrilling sequences and some of the best filming I've seen - looks totally gob smacking. I thought the action sequence were brilliant. It’s simply one the best films I’ve seen in recent times. French movies are doing it at the moment; Crimson Rivers, Amelie and Brotherhood are all class films.

The dual disc French DVD release of BOTW is supposed to be reference quality with excellent DTS track but alas no English subtitles. Guess I’ll have to wait for R1 DVD release.
