This is awesome.... I wonder if some Canadian Universities also will also introduce some courses like this ?.. Sure will give ppl from "certain countries" a few heartaches :D

in my school we had to read the devdas book and watch the devdas(2002) movie also we had to do this thing last year about asoka and watch the movie aterwords

What a tragedy.. The only movies that I was able to see when in school were two great English movies

The Lord of the Flies &
Macbeth (with Sir Lawrence Olivier)..

Those movies were first shown to us and then we had to review each Chapter / ACT of the novel / play !

i know in grade 10 we learn about east meets west for s.s. and i know you watch american desi and next year they will also show bollywood hollywood and bend it like becham becausse this whole "bollywood" stuff is so big in my school when there are more chinese people but when ever there is a dance show they always do bollywood songs and celebrate dewali and all that stuff vant wait next year for the east meets west in s.s.

(though it's not Bollywood) but at my university this year, there is a course on the Cinema of Martin Scorsese. (I've heard) a few years back(while I wasn't at York U.), there was a course on the Cinema of Satyajit Ray.

i've got a course at the university of toronto called "humanism of satyajit ray" which deals with his writings, paintings, compositions and films.

Of cos... I did get it and am abt to post something abt that DVD. Its worth it, at least for the next 5 years ! (as Shemaroo has the rights for the film)... Get all the 3 DVds... (Karma, Hero, & Karz ! )

And nah U figure out what type of "school" (if you can call that a school) begins with M and ends with A :)... a clue.. only one "subject" is taught there :)
