Rani in 1857 - The Uprising

Ketan Mehta's wife Deepa Sahay confirms the director has finalised Rani Mukherji to act in his pre-Independence drama 1857 - The Uprising and is considering Aishwarya Rai for one of the roles.

A foreign actress is expected to fill the third slot. The three-heroine project has Aamir Khan playing freedom fighter Mangal Pandey.

This looks like a very promising film. Not only will it inform about the 1857 uprising but it'll pull in the audience simply by the big-names. India's next oscar nomination perhaps?

I'm really looking forward to this movie, being such an Aamir Khan fan. I didn't know A.R. Rahman was doing music, though....just wondering where you got the info on that. All I knew up to this point was that it was gonna be a joint British-Indian effort (right?), with cameos by Aishwarya Rai and Rani Mukherji.

Just a different point! but related to AAMIR, Did any one notice? Aamir and Kajol were never paired together, after ISHQ, where he was kinda GOD BROTHER to him!!

I wish, they would be together with a ACTION PACKED HIGH CHARGE DRAMA?
