It was something to the effect of

"Oh, your one stop shop for all dvds, gifts, sweets etc. is Indiaweekly.com, INDIAWEEKLY.COM" There was a guy sitting in front of a computer saying all this stuff which was said very fast and incoherently. Towards the end, he also said that they do the 10% price match. He had a band-aid on his forehead.

Of course, now Aarkayne says there was some meaning to the band-aid which I did not get at all. So, obviously, I didn't pay that much attention to the ad. Did you not see it in Canada? Our telecast in the US has been on Dish Network.

Mrig let me guess with a really stupid accent ?. Do you have the Angoor DVD ? I think the same ad comes in that dvd as well. ! I think the band-aid might signify, shopping at other sites and getting ripped off :D

Uh-oh, I didn't get it either but then the guy saying whatever he was saying wasn't very clear. So, what did the band-aid imply? Thanks so much. :)

i guess the gist of the ad is that he's shopping on the net for DVDs and he's soooooo....frustrated (as were we watching it) that he BANGS his forehead on the keyboard....and voila...cut to next shot he has a band-aid on his forehead as he waxes non-eloquently on the latest-greatest find of the century for DVDs....etc.... very cheesy indeed :D

I think even I could have conceptualised a better ad for those chaps....and most certainly it was shot by amateurs with a home video camera.....

Rain!. Looks like Zimbabwe is going through as this will probably end in a draw. England still have slim chances. Pakistan is out

I believe this is the worst World Cup ever organised quite contrary to what Ali Bacher wanted (SA Board Chief). The coverage sucks, teams that dont deserve to be in the top six are there ( WI thrashing Kenya for a under 100 score even as we speak). And there is no way for rain interrupted matches to be played another day. I remember the games in England (at least in 1983) had an alternate day available to be completed.....like Michael Holding said....this is surely going to undermine the competition....

Really?! Depends on where you are I guess. Sky Digital in Europe are broadcasting all matches live - you can select which match to view from a choice of 6 screens (upto 3 are used for matches depending on number of games playing on that day and others are used to show highlights & stat ). Best coverage of cricket that I've seen ever on TV.

I think it was the last ICC Tournament that they tried reserve days for rain interrupted matches which turned into a farce too. For tight scheduled tournaments this is always going to happen – and especially in cricket you can't sell tickets for reserved days just in case.

Kenya can go through to the next stage without winning any of their remaining matches – all they need is another rain interrupted match to give them 2 points to go into the semis – at the expense of New Zealand :bash:

Which is great indeed..... NZ suckzz.... Whiners # 2, after England !

Scenarios :- India need just 1 win
Australia no wins (but highly unlikely that will happen)

Sri-lanka need at least 1 win and a Tie
NZ need to win 2 matches at least...

Kenya , as ali stated.. Just need a tie or rain washout ! and Voila they are in !, Zimbabwe has no chance ! (but again who knows)

Hmm...isnt only one company given the rights to televise and uplink the game from the ground and everybody else simply buys rights to broadcast it in whichever region?

All the matches are broadcast live too here and there is a choice as to which one you want and can see. I know we were following the Canada-WI match the day India played Namibia (or Zim). The coverage here in North America has no picture-in-picture of runs being taken as the ball travels to a fielder in the outfield. THis is the minimum expectation one has after being used to it for so many years. Also the software sucks (no animation for ducks and stuff), though those are frills definitely. Which is why I thought this coverage sucked. I think I have always been maha impreseed with Channel 9's coverage....World Tel (or whatever else was Mark Masceranhas' company) did a great job too. But the commentators are pretty decent Richie Benaud, Robin Jackman, Ravi Shastri, Sanjay Manjrekar, Michael Holding, Tony Grieg, Ian Botham et al. Only Sunil Gavaskar's missing and I wonder if that is because he's on the ICC technical committee and hence barred ??

In any case it does look to be a Ind-SL semi-final and an Aus-NZ being the other, for we shall certainly be #2 in the final tally of things with Aus #1.....so it appears we are all set for a Ind-Aus final.....and in the fitness of things, where else to avenge the initial round defeat than the final....GO INDIA..

On Dish, there are two channels with the live matches. After the matches are finished, they show a segment with highlights and later on in the evening for us, they show the replay. Which is interesting because they showed the India-Pakistan match for the 3rd time on Sunday in replay. Also, it was great to watch Ashish Nehra magic on Wednesday in the evening. The ads are also definitely targeted at the Asian audience because they have ads in Hindi all the time. We are happy with the coverage so far.

I so did not get the band-aid point earlier. :D Thanks for clarifying.

This is probably a good day-night tester/practice for India - their appeal to have the day-night semi final changed to all day match was rejected earlier today.

Lucky for Sri Lanka – Jayasuriya seems unhurt; otherwise it would have been all over for them.
