Australia 128-1 (23.2 overs) beat India 125 all out (41.4 overs) by nine wickets

At the moment the only the teams that are going to get close to beating Australia are South Africa and Sri Lanka - don't have hopes for any other team :nervous:

:sus:

Considering we had to wake up at 2 am our local time to watch this, I am hoping that Ali's reverse logic will work for India as well. :baaa: :bangbang:

This sorry bunch of "men in blue" masquerading as cricketers ought to be whipped for their absolutely humiliating performance so far. As for the captain I have no words to describe my feelings for him right now. This has got to be the worst Indian team ever, atleast if performance is any barometer. Best batting lineup, my ass.

Unless Ganguly overcomes his super ego and steps down the batting order, Indian fans might as well consider the world cup over. I myself at this stage have no dillusions of India winning the cup, but certainly I expect the team to put in a little more respectful performances and to lose with atleast their dignity intact.

I still think that there are atleast 4 to 5 teams that stand a good chance to win the cup but India is most certainly not amonst that group. Making it to the Super Sixes stage initself would be a major victory infact and which is about the most they can aim or hope for.

Absolutely humiliating defeat.
Only positives of the match being at least we lost to Australia, a team we were expected to lose against anyway; and Australia is pretty much guaranteed a spot in the super six, so it's not like they take away a spot from us.
Nonetheless, this was a shameful effort.

The Indian took 10 days off to rest after they were humiliated in New Zealand...and then came to South Africa completely unprepared. And then Ganguly decided to experiment with the batting line up!!! Still the worst player is probably Rahul Dravid for wasting so many balls and making only a few runs...I think they should move Harbhajan Singh up the batting order, at least that guy did something..

This is not what the Indian team need nows - stories from their home with people burning their pictures. I never got the mentality of home countries putting this much pressure on their teams. Pakistan get the same - they were stories of families of Pakistan cricket players being kidnapped and were held to random asking them to win the match. Duuh! :bangbang: It's not like they are not under extreme pressure already. On this side England have been totally screwed over by the government and cricketing authorities here – and yet they still expect them to win the world cup. Thats another reason why Australia are at the moment the best champions - they got cool heads on and off the pitch.

The Indian cricket team has been kidnapped. The kidnappers are demanding a ransom of Rs 100 crores or else they will pour petrol over the team members and burn them. Please contribute, I myself have contributed 5 litres for a good cause. :bash:

Ali,
The problem is not that the Indian fans cannot accept the team losing, but rather it is the humiliating manner in which they lost to Australia. That and their poor performance against Holland and the loss to a lowly club side in the World Cup practise matches. Add all this to the embarassing losses in New Zealand and you might start to understand the reasons for the fans ire. BY the wway the whole issue of the sponsorship contracts also does nto speak well for the Indian cricketers who seemed to be focused on one thing and one thing only, MONEY.
