I thought most DVD's only had DD 5.1 since players/receivers are able to downsample DD 5.1 and still enable you to hear the sound. Of course a DD 2.0 would be better if you don't have a surround setup, but I believe you would still be able to hear DD 5.1.

Sunny, I have been noticing over the last year how Ayngaran is now focussing its' attention on new Tamil film releases and are putting their all into making these films look great on DVD. However, are they at all interested in releasing ANY old films, or even films from the 1980s? I know that 'Kandukondain' and 'Iruvar' will have special editions later this year, but what about the following Tamil classics that are currently not on release, such as Mani Ratnam's entire back catalog before 'Roja' and 'Bombay'. These would include :

Agni Natchatiram (1988, Prabhu, Karthik, Nirosha, Amala)
Anjali (1990, Revathi)
Idhayathai Thirudadhey ('Geetanjali')
Pallavi Anu Pallavi (aka 'Priya O Priya)
Mouna Raagam
Dalapathi (1991)
Nayagan
Pagal Nilavu

Also, are all of Ayngaran's new efforts now being transferred onto DVD directly from the film's negative? Is there any other Indian DVD company that has done this?
