Hello,

Maybe it's just the type of movies I've been renting and buying lately, or the movies suggested by Zulm members, but every time a movie starts - there he is ! :sus:

I have to watch a movie well over 20 years old in order to see one without him. :nervous:

I do like some of his roles - I thought he was pretty good in Lamhe (the character fitted him).

But, after awhile... enough already ! :baaa:

There, I've finally gotten that off my chest...

I wondered the same thing. It wasn't until I got a DVD player that I started to see a lot of Hindi movies besides the classics. Most of the films I rented had Anupam Kher in them, or if I saw a songs DVD, he was in a lot of the songs. As you say, every time a movie starts, there he was!

lol, lol,haha.
I have great sympathy for you kstuart, I went through a similar phase when practically every film I saw had Amrish Puri playing exactly the same role, using the same lines, same jestures, and basically dredging up memories of my dad looking at me with eye-popping disbelief when I told him it wasn't me who covered my brother head to toe in boot polish (or some other prank). Anupam Kher I like, I don't mind him in any movie because such a good character actor.

Wait till you noticed Jonny Lever in ever other film, doing the same role over and over again. Enough to drive anyone crazy!

Watch new movies, and you'll have the same problem with Johnny Lever.

It is all quite sad though - the standard of comedy in Hindi films has dropped so much. I remember some of the older movies in the 60s - regardless of how melodramatic they were, Mehmood always used to make me laugh. In the 80s, people like Kader Khan, and Anupam Kher gave me the occasional chuckle, and nowadays, Johnny Lever just makes me cringe.....

Its sad that we have to be hard on Johnny Lever who's simply trying to be another item in all these movies....he's pretty talented and can generate a serious chuckle when given good lines (was he not great in KKHH or even KAREEB)....what can the poor dude do when moronic directors dont know how to use him and use him for the comic relief without actually writing good scenes.....but he sure needs to explore more 'acting' roles than simply the buffoon roles he currently does....

And there we go again......hijacking a thread on Kher's uncanny appearance in every other movie to talk about everything else under the sun....but kaa karen...we are all like this ONLY!

Anupam Kher was EVERYWHERE in the late 90's until 2001. The only films I remember him in were two horrible ones last year: YHJ and KMDSP.

Johnny Lever needs to be quarantined! He was in EVERY film two years ago, and he finally disappeared, but he's in a few films here and there. Overly wasted!

Amrish Puri and his father, "I'll kill you and leave my slap mark on your face" or that eye popping expression, which is his trademark (just like Karishma's red eyes, shreiking and shocked face). He does the same thing over and over again.

I was kind of getting tired of Himani Shivpuri, even though I like her, and Alok Nath keeps doing the same thing over and over again.

One ACTOR I think keeps doing the same "achche insaan" roles with the same expressions is Anil Kapoor. He's talented, but damn, this Raj and Om roles bore me!
