Stargate : The Ultimate Edition R1
Artisan will release Stargate Ultimate edition R1 On February the 24th.

The disc will feature the theatrical and directors cuts in Anamorphic 2.35:1, and with DTS-ES 6.1 and Dolby Digital 5.1EX Soundtracks. The extras look like this;

Featurette: "The Making Of Stargate"
Featurette: "Is There A Stargate?" including an interview with Erich von Daniken
Audio Commentary by Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin
Theatrical Trailers
Cast & Crew Info
Production Notes

Finally they got it right. There are two previous R1 versions, both non-anamorphic.

1. Theatrical cut
2. Special edition w/ longer cut of the film and commentary

I'm not a huge fan of this film, but it surprised me that it took Artisan this many times to get a film right that is kind of a cult favorite.

Ive already got the region 2 directors cut and im not sure if its worthwile me getting this as the ultimate edition doesnt seem to have that many more extras.

I am getting this for namorphic widescreen presentation, and
DTS ES discrete sound!
