Agreed AAA DEI is not as good as other good old DEI titles. But I am not sure whether I can say too bad, when compared with Laila Majnu and Don.

A few days ago I got my Amar A.A. dvd the BEI version. I haven't seen the DEI version of Amar A.A , but I noticed that the quality of AAA by BEI doesn't appear to be the same quality as other DEI old movies like Laila Majnu, Don and other old titles. I hope it's just my eyes, but the video quality of the AAA dvd is not that good.

Your post made me take another look at the newly arrived BEI copy of Amar Akbar Anthony. As I had seen your comments and I was looking for the flaws, I didn't like the picture that much either. Now, I got really suspicious about what you said that BEI quality is inferior to DEI. So, I checked my DEI copy too. As I was looking for the particular flaws, DEI copy had same thing.

I didn't find any degradation in BEI copy from DEI copy. Obviously not all DEI titles were the same quality. Still, they were miles ahead of the competition. At least all their DVDs are from film and are progressive.

That is good news, I was camparing the AAA dvd to other dei old movies. So, if the DEI version of AAA is the same quality as BEI that means we still will be getting the same good quality dvd's from BEI. One of the best old titles done by DEI is Roti Kapra aur Makan, that dvd by DEI is a very good quality. thanks Rana

They spent a long time sourcing that print of AAA. It was the first time I saw the movie without those annoying english and arabic subtitles, which can be seen on the Baba DVD.
