I wonder if some one could clarify some info about the Pretty Woman DVD.

I saw a price of $ 17 and also $ 34.

DVD info states it to be 1.85:1 Letterboxed. I think it implies a non-anamorphic transfer??

1.85:1 Letterboxed is priced at $ 34 and claims it to be the 10th anniversary edition for the year 2000.

Another listing states the 10th anniversary edition as NOT RELEASED YET??

All of the above is current info.

Does any one have this DVD? Is it anamorphic?

Thanks.

Rana

Two R1 DVDs are director's cut version of the film – adding an extra 5 mins to the film - but both are non-anamorphic 1.85:1 video. One disc is a flipper, other is not.

R2 PAL DVD is original theatrical version (non-director's cut) but is anamorphic @ 1.85:1.

Thanks Ali for the quick clarification. I think I will pass on non-anamorphic 1.85:1 Letterboxed version. I wonder if the news about yet to release "10th anniversary editition" (http://www.futureshop.ca) is true??

Rana

UPDATE:
Site (futureshop.ca) that showed the 10th anniversary edition (2000) as "not released yet", now shows it as "available now". It does say Widescreen though. May be its Nonanamorphic Widescreen.

Lucky to be R2. You get double the resolution of R1 release.

A memorable quote from this film :-

I think all sites selling the R1 version still has the DD 2.0 and 1.85:1 non-anamorphic version of this disc.

Arsh, I guess you are talking about "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" and not "Pretty Woman"??
If so, looks like no decent release of this famous film (Pretty Woman) is avail for R1. Must be around the corner though.

In the meanwhile, R2 DVD is the one to go for, if you can beat the system to play it in R1. R2 pic contains 576 lines of res while R1 letterbox immage is contained in 360 lines res with 120 lines used for black bars (total 480).
