I finally got around to watching Dil Vil Pyar Vyar DVD by Shemaroo last night.

The DVD contains excellent dolby 5.1 audio
The picture quality is excellent for a non-anamorphic DVD.
The colors are really sharp on DVD.
The print used to make the DVD was really good there were hardly any blemishes throughout the film, and very littel flickering.

For those people who do not have a DD5.1 setup one can setup up the audio on the DVD to play in dd stereo.

The DVD lived up to the text written on the DVD cover..
"The ultimate enhanced version with smooth viewing".

Ksingh can you check the DVD... by following the steps I outlined in this thread

I have received a reply from Shemaroo on the Hero DVD. In regards to the power DVD stuff I will post the info hopefully by jan 2. I haven't had the time to do the power DVD stuff..
The Shemaroo reply is below...
-----------------------------------------------------------
We are very much pleased to receive your mail and are glad to know that you really like the DVD's of our films. With reference to your mail we would like to inform you that we have valued your suggestions and would try and take each of them in to consideration. We would like to inform you that the DVD for the film Hero would surely have a proper 5.1 audio and a sharp picture quality. We very much value your suggestions so please do keep writing in to us.

Regards
----------------------------------------------------------
This is what I wrote to my contact at Shemaroo

I have a request that when the Hero DVD goes in for DVD production that Shemaroo please make sure that this classic DVD have the following features: Also remember that Shemaroo is the only DVD company which owns the rights to
Hero so everyone will be buying this DVD regardless if one lives in India, UK, and the USA.

1)Hero should be presented in an anamorphic widescreen presentation.
2)The audio should be proper 5.1 audio.
3)The DVD should be progressive and not interlaced.
4)The picture quality should be outstanding with sharp colours.

** I know Shemaroo can make outstanding DVDs because I own 1-2 DVDs that Shemaroo did for Eros and these DVDs are mind blowing!!

regards,

Like Arsh has said before it's doubtful you're going to get a 'proper' 5.1 audio from Shemeroo DVD of Hero - unless of course they've redefined what they mean by 'proper' :doze: Anything any DVD company does is proper to them, not necessarily proper to everybody else, especially the people who buy their DVDs. It's about time people stop believing every ounce of bull is fed via emails from these companies.

ksingh, if your mind was blown by 1-2 DVDs that Shemaroo did for Eros, then I would hate to imagine what else you would blow when you eventually come across a proper DVD one day
