I am waiting to see this as it has music by Nitin Sawhney - one of my fav musicians.

Any idea if and when it will be released in the US.

Haven't seen this yet. I'm not sure I want to as most people I know who've seen it didn't have much good to say about it. Apparently the book's no good either, but that would be a matter of opinion.

Watched this over the weekend, pretty enjoyable film that follows other Asian-British films in the past  Very cool retro 70s look, worth watching once I think.

Among brit asian flicks, east is east really hit home and coming second was bend it like beckhan. If this genre relating to asian life in britain can be followed up upon, especially about the asian youth, then we can have something to look forward to.

I felt Anita and Me was a compleatly dissapointing British flick with misrepresentation and typical sterotypes ideologies of British life and Culture in the 1970's. Better off watching wonderful drama's like KES or if your looking for a great British Asian Drama set in the 1970's then watch the comedy film East Is East, with Om Puri in his best role ever!

Can't believe a talent like Ashaya Dharkar did that film...but then she also did do the awful Star Wars Ep 2 before Anita and Me Eeech!! :nopity:
