I did not want to CONTRADICT your statement! without PROOF:

""BMCM was ONLY AUTORED by MEDIA DIMENSIONS for VS"

I have SD version , in my posession, that I saw in one of the local stores, and have PROCURED that!!

I have BOTH, currently!! with me!!( MEDIA DIMENSION AUTHORED and SD authored) and will preview them over the WEEKEND!

SO GET READY for the SHOW!!! CHEERS!! :baaa:

Wow. Thats great.

I hope SD version turns out to be proper AR. But, most likely, I think, original author will be SD and later replicated by MD.
BTW,
1) My copy of Media Dimension BMCM is ready to be junked as it is very tempramental. Only 1 out of 10 tries, it is detected by the player. It had excellent print (but stretched) and that's why I haven't thrown it in the garbage yet. It does have fake DD5.1 with no bass. My CD sounds a lot lot better.

ADDED LATER:
2) BMCM reviewed on zulm was also the Media Dimension version.

http://www.zulm.net/modules....order=0

It says,
"Alternate versions: Earlier Super Digital version, same as this DVD in terms of picture and sound quality"

Or quoting a dialogue from the film :-

"Ek badhta rehta hai aur rukne ka naam hi nahin leta hai...
aur doosra badte badte kahan ruk jaata hai.. pata hi nahi chalta hai" :D

Well!! I agree hard to tell, but on my standalone player in prog scan mode!SD dvd appears a BIT DARKER transfer!

SD version..is single layer, with bit rate, 3-5, and audio at 396kbps.

MD version, is dual layered, bit rate is 5-7( 8) and audio shows, 484 kbps!!

But otherwise, color fidelity, AR with weired, vertical stretch is the same!!

i agree, media used by SD at that time was GOLD MEDIA!

Now the MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION IS?

Q: If u have both versions AVAILABLE on same MEDIA DISCS(GOLD), Which one you will pick/prefer??? :baaa: ???

Arsh (and others).. To answer his question..if you have a choice, go for the single layered version... having a gold media as the media of choice and not the pathetic Silver media used by MD....

We checked out the dvd on a computer system with a 5.1 output and believe me... there was nothing 5.1 in it... It was , at best, a pathetic hissing coming out from the rear channels(speakers)....

Other than that its your (bad or good) luck !

I have posted SL orig SD version PROGRESSIVE DVD, DL(MD Version, NON PROG/VS) already in this thread.

Now I came across VS version DL/PROG encoded dvd with 5.1 484KBPS sound!!

Transfer is all looks the same but encoding onto disc is different.

I have sent SS to ali/legend for posting including shot for disc too, very hard to tell, as it looks simillar to any old disc version.

Bit rate is high here, 5-6, while SL prog was 2-3MBPS!

This is orig review by ali

http://www.zulm.net/modules.php?op=modl ... e=&order=0

on underside of disc says BMCM BY L.I. DISC NY. so not by media dimension.

I love Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, and I feel that the DVD (I have the "VideoSound" version) almost does justice to it. It sounds good, and the picture is sharp and richly saturated. The down-side is that, while the image may be presented in its original aspect ratio (if it isn't, then it comes damned close [read, "close enough"] to doing so), it appears a little "stretched" when viewed on my 4:3 television set. It (the problem) is not nearly so bad as it is on the DVDs of Sooryavansham, but, nevertheless, it distracts from the film.

I have the first release version which had 5.1 mono sound. Now I have to fork out more ££££ just to hear the film in its true 5.1 sound!!!
