 Post subject: RETAIL DVDRS !!!!

over the last few months i have brought hollywood blockbusters on retail dvdrs weeks before the official dvd release date in the USA. titles that i have include star wars 2 spiderman scooby doo the sum of all fears austin powers.

the copy of all of the above are excellent just like the finish product that u will buy in the shops when they are out some even have extras like sw2 has the director commentary spiderman has the bonus disk etc.

i have purchased each title here in the UK for no more than £5 the point of this thread is that is there anyone who does this same format for bollywood films i'm sure regarding the recent debate over the qualities of bollywood dvds its must be cheaper to buy the same product on a good quality dvdr.

I have asked the traders that i have purchased the hollywood films if they would be doing bollywood but as of yet they have said that there isn't that much of a demand from the UK !!!

there are online stores that do this and u all know who they are but even at their prices its way too much i mean compare the retail dvdr of sw2 that i have with the best that bollywood has to offer and i'm sure there is no comparison even when the one that i have is a copy onto dvdr !!!

any comments from the trusted members of this forum welcome below pls lets not turn this into a slanging match between orignals & pirates !!! :cool:

trubble is though some dvd-r don't work with all players
a bit or trial and error is involved, things like burn speed too can cause the dvd to skip

a crap dvd not working at £5 makes your wish you'd just got the £11.99 retail from play.com!

faddy dear bro these are found on http://www.cdrom-guide.com u need to register as a member its free !!!

once in u need to go to the buy & sell trade software and just read the threads that take ur fancy.

yes its true that these dvdrs work on certain players but u'll find that over 90% of players have the capability to play these if urs doesn't then thats a CRAP player !!!

and i very much doubt that any of the titles that i have mentioned are avaliable to buy at £11.99 from play let alone 2 months before the release date !!

mmmm you'd be surprised even top players don't like some brand of discs though, also PS2 players are very choosy about what they play

I got the same ones you mentioned 2 :P not scooby though :oh:

i was very surprised that one of the 1st generation dvd players played dvdrs my m8 got the pioneer 717 when it first came out and they work on his and that player at that time was one of the best high end players.

of course now u can get a cheap one form TESCO'S & ASDA that does the job just as well.

as far as i know the dvdrs that i have all of them have been tested on very cheap players prior to purchase because the guy's that make them use cheap players and also they all work on my modified PS2 and they are guaranteed to work on PC'S.

the point i'm making is that alot of people are buying these hence the number of traders selling have increased by over 50% on the forum where they are all my friends have brought and are very impressed with the quality some have even upgraded their players to play dvdrs !!!

at £5 thats just a bit more than renting from BLOCKBUSTERS and alot cheaper than buying from the shops although all u do get is the dvdr in a cd wallet case BUT the same copy as the one in the shops !!!
