folks,
can we create some-sort of list of all the movies which is cut in the movie.. few that i can think of are ::

Koyla - Video Sound Release (few small scenes were cut!)
Anjaam - Video Sound Release (few small scenes were cut!)
Namkeen - Weg Release (the last hour of the movie is missing!)

Recently while scanning thru Mera Naam Joker - Shemaroo Release; I noticed few small scenes have been taken out, and also noticed few new scenes that i didn't see in Yashraj Release

To Those of you who have scene MNJ, the scene where Raj gets a sari for meenu, and when trying to touch meenu, she says: "kahin daag na lag jaye". and raj responses: "haan.. kahin aag na lag jaye".. this entire scene is not there. :angry:

Will go thru the entire movie, and let you know if any other scenes are missing. and as for addition, there is the song "teetar ke do aagay teetar ke do peechey teetar.. bolo kitney teetar".. this songs starts off differently than what i seen in Yashraj Release. This makes both release of MNJ is INCOMPLETE :(

Janam Samjha Karo - *ing Salman Khan and Urmila - also done by Video Sound has some small scenes cut.

Raja Babu - *ing Govinda and Karisma - done by Video Sound/Super Digital has the Sarkay Lo Katiya song cut

Is this a trend?? Seems like all Video Sound titles have some scenes cut!

The Burning Train from YRF was extensively cut.

original Burning Train thread

Problem with some cuts are they are made by the original film makers at some point or the other – then these cut prints are used for DVD transfers (or some video sourced from these prints). Example of these include Sholay & Shaan.

Other cuts are from TV/censored versions, again the DVD being improperly sourced from these versions – e.g. Agneepath. So this list could be long depending what you choose to include.

Mughal-E-Azam: There is a b/w scene missing where Anarkali's mother goes to search for the ring that Akbar gave her as a symbol of his promise. Attached to this scence was footage of Anarkali being led in to the dungeons. These scenes are placed in the middle of the last colour sequence - and are present on a very old VHS copy that I have.

i dont know if it was a deleted scene but the song khoye khoye din hain was cut off in hum tumare hai sunum by eros and it was strange that that song trailor was on the song menu :keh:

IZZY! I think, I read REVIEWS of HTHS!! and REVIEWERS said!! me too? That it was the bEST SONG! that did not make to the film! Are u sure it was in THEATRIC PRESENTATION? ???

Mera Naam Joker - Shemaroo Release is terribly cut, almost every 10 minutes there would be something missing. Just to let you know how much is cut..

As i was watching both my vhs and dvd.. vhs is 1hr51mins into the movie, and the dvd is only 1hr34mins.. so many cuts, i am completely disgusted. the first cut noticed where all students were going to hunt birds and get trapped in their net is completely missing, the scene only after the song began.

next cut noticed where raj comes home saying 'da da'. and he was looking thru the joker toy, and talks to his mother, this scene is cut.. scene where the part of the circus is shown is cut out.. dont see any consistency in the cuts. cut every 10 minutes. even when raj does his comedy by the his hand glove is missing, raj goes to sing and gives 3 tries.. the 2nd try is missing (about 3 second long)... awwww....

nevertheless, i do appreciate the quality of the video tops yashraj by far. just wished it was complete. :( guess i will keep my MNJ VHS copy for a long time.. regret throwing Namkeen VHS in the garbage though...

There is one shot I've noticed that is missing from the original EROS Devdas DVD, which is near the end of the film when Chandramuki is seen standing outside her havali during the night as she watches Devdas leave for the final time, i remember watching this scene in the theaters plus on one of the pirated Devdas DVD. And strangly its not on the original DVD ??? :angry: :ffs:
