I had read that Aamir Khan was doing two conversation/interviews open to the public last Sunday and Monday in London and Bradford, England. Was anyone lucky enough to attend? Please share some details if so.

hi guys I went to this it was great

The author of the spirit of Lagaan came on first and talked a little about the book, then one of the English actors from lagaan read an extract from the book.

Asif Kapadia (director of The warrior) then bought Aamir khan onto stage to interview him. They read from the book and the interview lasted about 1.20/1.30 minutes with them showing a couple of clips from Lagaan.

Aamir came across as very likeable, very funny too. He was basically like the dil chah tha hai character in real life. Various English Lagaan caste members were in the audience too and answered a few questions.

One of the funniest moments was when the audience was invited to ask Aamir questions, a girl of about 17/18 put her hand up and said "erm hi, I'm here with my friend nabila and she was...erm we are big fans..........and I was wondering if.......she's your biggest fan......well........erm.........could you come and give her a hug please?"

The audience broke into laughter, Aamir gave a cheeky grin and then jumped off stage into the audience and gave her a hug.

The interview by Asif was very good, he's very sharp and witty. After the interview Aamir left the stage, but a few minutes later signed Autographs and posed for pictures.

He signed my Lagaan dvd and posed for some photos.

I have digital pictures which I can post up, if anyone wants to see. (Someone will have to tell me how to post them up though?)

Thanks, Awaaz, for the information. You are so lucky. Did Aamir shed any light on what his next project would be? Will he really be playing Mangal Pandey and if so, when will shooting begin? Any other news he might have shared? And, yes, please share those pictures.

Aamir didn't mention any current projects he did say the following things which I found informative....

-Andrew Lloyd webber offered him the lead role in Bombay dreams, he read the script and rejected it cos he didn't think it was very good and cos he felt he coudn't sing. He hasn't seen the play yet either.

- He didn't like "Bombay" )the movie cos he was in Bombay at that time and thought Ratman took some liberties in the film and showed things that he felt didn't happen in Bombay at that time.

- His next project is a historical drama again involving the English in India, he will play a hero from ( I think he said) the uprising (or mutiny if your English) of 1912?

- He saw lots of English/American scripts but has rejected them all, but he would like to make one in the future.

- He really enjoyed the English film Snatch!

OK PICTURES POSTED TO ALI BHAI, have had to reduced the size and quality to get them to fit in email!

Someone tell lazy-ass Khan (aka Aamir)... who incidentally is ona my favourite actors to get back to work and make a movie.

Sodoff slob's been riding on the Lagaan laurels too long. I loved the movie, but come on peops, it wasn't worthy of THIS MUCH ATTENTION.

AKh: I've been reading a lot of scripts and I have come across one that I will probably be doing. It is set in 1857 at the time of what the Indians call The Uprising and what the British call The Mutiny. The story is about a friendship between an Indian and a British officer through this period.
