.. just finished watching this DVD. It's OK DVD - anamorphic, 2.30:1 AR (again splice marks are not covered properly otherwise the correct AR of the film is close to 2.40:1). Colour is good - not the usual washed out look from Eros. Contrast and sharpness could have been better. Audio is proper DD5.1 and is OK - only downside is the original mix is pretty awful to listen to - like some amateur has mixed it; loads of unnecessary surround effects when there not need like sounds birds flying constantly (and annoyingly). There are some momentary audio dropouts occasionally like a bad cut has been made. Didn’t check the extras out :oh:

This actually happened in the Cinema too.. especially when the characters mentioned the word "arse" there was a drop out on the audio.. i initially thought that it was a problem just at the cinema so that they could get a certain certificate.. but looks like the dodgy geezers on Eros cudnt be arsed obtaining the original soundtrack for the DVD :sus:

I would CONCUR with Ali's impressions with SHAKTI..dvd..Average dvd, clean source, poor sharpness and contrast..picture looks very soft!!
Film has a GOOD color pellete, needing better PICTURE FIDELITY!
Close ups, some how LOOK better than the rest of the film.

SOUND..is DD 5.1, with uNNECESSARY, ECHOING..OVERTLLY BRIGHTNESS!! seems like should be the same in the THEATRE!!!

Ther r DROP outs..CENSOR, plus..sound becomes MONOPHONIC kinda, at least at two OCCASIONS!!!Once when Karishma is sitting in the HOUSE begging DIPTI to help her GET the KID!!
and ONCE more even OUT SIDE between MOM and KID!!


Film..I' was not MUCH IMPRESSED!! OK..overall product!
KK and NANA(FOREVER RELIABLE, in this kinda role) are the BEST PART! and SRK ,even he OVERACTS, TRY TO COPY AMITABH's LOVABLE!! VAGABOND style(MISERABLY FAILING THOUGH), is WATCHABLE, saviour and MONEY EARNER for the fILM, IMHO!!

Songs, besides the FIRST two, Karisma's wedding and DUMBROO, others,are UNNECESSARILY, placed and DONT belong there!!!
BAck ground..music is PASSABLE!!

VOILENCE and GORE!! It is there, along with WOMEN ABUSE! but some how seems JELLING well with the film / story/plot's background!!as a matter of fact, KARISMA and NANA's FIGHT was quite dammn GOOD!

I have seen more GRAPHIC voilence in RGV films, e.g JUNGLE and COMPANY!!

NO BIG SHAKES!! but GOOD PERFORMANCES!

Aish..would be or would not be..IMHO, would not have MUCH DIFFERENCE, practically, beyond, MARKETING strategy!!

CAMERA work, is PRETTY GOOD! Must be a SOUTH INDIAN CINEMATOGRAPHER!!



NOW..2nd disc on dvd..has making of ISHQ Kamina,and climax,location, that could have gone on the main disc too!!abt 10-12 minutes total(no star/director/producer commentory, interviews?)

Boney kapoor film's 30 songs, including..JUDAII, SIRF TUM, RKRCKR, Mr. India, Pukar, WOH 7 din..are GOOD picks, but variable sound and AR, es, wOH 7 DIN, in STD AR, with AWFULL picture!!

Went to buy the dd 2ay. The dvd didn't have a hologram picture on the dvd, so is it a pirate ???.

And what kind of packaging does it come in, I mean is it plastic amaray cover or is it like the forthcoming Devdas dvd & come as a cardboard cover :ffs: :bangbang: :keh:
