He made some wicked films - Kaamchor, Khudgarz, Khoon Bhari Maang, and then we had Karobaar, Koyla etc.
KAAMCHOR was technically not Roshan's it was directed by K.Vishwanath, though it was a Filmkraft production. In which case it may make sense to include his other productions such as AAP KE DEEWAANE, JAAG UTHA INSAAN(though i am unsure if this was his production) as well, which were decent flicks too....
But I agree....Roshan and Ghai belong to the same genre...they have their sights firmly on the box office returns and use a cookie cutter to churn out products....KAHO NA PYAAR HAI was by no means a great flick, it ran because of the novelty of the star it introduced namely HK....but unfortunately that novelty has now worn off....every single dance step, every single facial twitch of his appears predictable....which is not to be confused with his talent....he is certainly talented, just needs to work in an indie type venture such as a Hansal Mehta's (terrific work with CHHAL) or a Madhur Bhandarker's or some such.....and one can never understand bollywood heroes fixation with the same looks...why dont they ever experiment with change in their natural hairstyles, beards, moustaches....why the heck do they have to use those stupid wigs !!!!! Gawd...they never learn do they ???
