"Kerci Daruwala of Columbia TriStar, which is releasing SUR all over, is confident that the film will get its due. “We have no hang-ups about releasing the film against the cricket matches. Didn't Vashu Bhagnani release BIWI NO. 1 against the World Cup? SUR is carrying positive reports, which is evident from the way the exhibitors have reacted to it,” he says.

Meanwhile, Columbia TriStar has decided to release the film with 50 prints in Mumbai circuit and 150+ prints all over India. “We are planning to increase the number of prints gradually,” Daruwala adds. "

Could we possibly see a third Indian DVD from CT? :nervous:

Another GOOD DVD by CT! wah tera kiya kehna!

BTW! till, very last, the news were that SUR is not finding the DISTRIBUTOR!

same like GAJA GAMINI, and ZUBAIDA and YRF gave them hands!

I hope SUR wont be like that!

Ab dekhna yeh hai!! Lucky ali, acting ke maedaan maen, kitna pehalvaan hai?

Not very many hopes! FROM INDIA with Love!

BUT! I hope CRITICS r kind to the film!

Don't jump the gun! CT are according to that info, only distributing the film in India - does not mention overseas or anything about DVD. :sus:

Ali / he builds them up and then knocks them down hard :p

C here!, I am glad it is not FRIDAY, the 14th!

Lucky Ali: Will Sur get lucky?
Pop singer Lukcy Ali will debut in Tanuja Chandra's Sur on Friday, the 13th of September. Considering the ominous date, speculations are rife as to how lucky the film will be for Lucky. Lucky isn't that superstitious as he doesn't even believe in planning for the next day, let alone next week. Being successful in his singing career, which just happened to him, Lucky feels Tanuja, has made a good film about a music teacher who bequeaths his knowledge to a young girl and later gets jealous when she surpasses him. Acting after a long time has been a new experience for Ali. One waits and wonders how much luck will he need?

SUR is by NO MEANS Lucky Ali's first film. He was seen earlier in TRIKAAL(Shyam Benegal's movie about pre-independance Goa) and he was certainly not bad.....he has genes to fall back on after all.......

But! how GOOD he would be able to carry the Main role on his shoulders!?

I was DISSAPPOINTED from SONU NIGAM in JAANI DUSHMAN! :baaa: :stupid:

AB Jr. is a decent actor(Sharaarat, Tera Jadoo.., Bas Itna Sa Khwab...)...he's just made a dumb choice of roles so far(Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar...,Dhai Akshar...) and unfortunately for him his lineage is working AGAINST him....he really needs that RGV movie real bad....and a desperate change of getup...can a plastic surgeon remove all resemblances to his mother one wonders here !

abt Lucky Ali in a lead role...yeah u are right...we shall see after all, wont we?

Ali yeah it doesnt say anything... but isnt it the obvious logical conclusion ?... You surely cant expect EROS or VS to release a film which CT is distributing ?

Perhaps Cinebella will release it. Columbia Tristar distributed "16 December," didn't they?

Sur Strikes A Chord With Mehmood

September 10, 2002. When one thinks of Mehmood, what comes to mind is his amazing sense of humour and superb comic timing.

So, when Tanuja Chandra, the director of Sur, caught Mehmood teary-eyed at a special preview of her film in Bangalore, she was touched. Incidentally, the film marks Mehmood's son, Lucky Ali's, debut as a lead actor. And if preliminary reports are to be believed, Lucky has done a decent job in the film.

Now, that's what we call good music to the ears!
