only problem is that they are selling the anamorphic dvds and advertising using the non-anamorphic dvd covers. you have to read the fine print to know that they have these new anamorphic dvds in stock.

Abey Theon at least Afzal is Honest enuff to let you know what DVDs you are buying... Try out the stores in Toronto and they will pass u a Fake YRF dvd as a genuine dvd ( and those wankers dont know how to replicate Anamorphic DVDs)... ( esp the ones on Gerard Street, Taj Mahal Video for example)

I will most probably buy these DVDs say 6-10 months from now when the prices drop !

Like I said before I am not going to waste my hard earned money on this peace of shi$ called as dvd. As long as they use poor source and Interlaced technique their dvd’s are not going to be any better than the infamous EROS whether they are non-Anamorphic or Anamorphic.

i want to call into question the claim that these new anamorphic dvds are just blown up versions of the old prints (at least i think that's what some of you guys were saying).

i was watching the new anamorphic kkhh dvd and noticed that at the beginning of the song "kkhh", there was no big tear noticable during an overhead shot, which was present in my old kkhh dvd. can someone confirm this since i don't have the old dvd with me?

Well I dont think I will part with my KKHH DVD (old version) .. as for DTPH.. if it solves the lip-sync problem from the previous version.. I will definately take it !... (as i have no choice).. Arsh miyan I will buzz Afzal abt this when I feel a need for it :)

sknath, i did notice some lip sync problems in the newer anamorphic dtph dvd. if you let me know which scenes in particular you're talking about, i can let you know if the problem still exists.

Theon then forget abt it.. But do tell me is the DVD encoded progressively or in an interlaced fashion ?

Arsh, I assume you are talking about Dil To Paagal Hai (Film Mode).

The old version was Video Mode. If they used the same master (as speculated/ mentioned earlier), I wonder how did they manage to change from Video Mode to Film Mode. May be the master had flags, and in the new version the flags have been made use of??

If they did make use of the flags and instucted the DVD player to repeat the same frame, where reqd, then they must have freed up the bit space and the bit rate must have gone up as compared to the prev. release.

I can check the BIT RATE! but it is in FILM MODE! previous DTPH was terrible PQ, a lot of EDGE ENHANCEMENT and UNNATURAL colors! :baaa:

Ok, rana ji! DTPH is running in full glory in my System, bit rate varies from 4-8 mbps!! u can check, ur original version, and let us know! cheers!

btw! just to compliment theo, anamorphic dtph has cleaned a lot of additional print tears, but not absolutely!! :baaa:

Just to confirm something:

Has anyone seen the first DTPH DVD (non-anamorph) that was progressive?? The one that I saw was interlaced, but a friend of mine says, "the original batch of DTPH was progressive, just like KKHH was" ??

He (my friend) also said that many of the original Super Digital batches are progressive but when they insert subtitles, it reverts to interlaced??
