4) Bahu Begum (1967) Meena Kumari,Pradeep Kumar,Helen
again great tunes by Roshan.
5) Taj Mahal (1963) Bina Roy,Pradeep Kumar,Helen
again great tunes by Roshan
6) Noorjahan (1967) Meena Kumari,Helen,Pradeep Kumar
some good tunes by Roshan.
7) Chaduvin Ka Chand (1961) Guru Dutt,Waheeda Rehman
Again great tunes by Ravi
8) Palki (1967) Rajendra Kumar,Waheeda Rehman
again some good tunes by Naushad.
9) Bimal Roys Benazir (1963) Meena Kumari,Shashi Kapoor

Coolie was an excellent flick, I remember the wonderful climax which was melodrama and religion together at thier best. Though if it was done now I'm sure many people would be offended.

2) Nausherwane Adil (1958) Mala Sinha,Raj Kumar
3) Deedar-E-Yaar (1983) Jeetandra,Rishi kapoor,Tina Munim
4) Mehboob Ki Mehnedi (1971) Rajesh Khanna & Leena chandawakar

This one R.D.Burman's first and has some good tunes
6) Zabak (1960)

8) Dharmputra (1962) Mala Sinha,Shashi Kapoor. This one is about a muslim couple watch their out of wedlock baby raised by hindu parents as a hindu until that fateful day when he finds out he's a muslim but guess what he hates muslims. very melodramatic but a bold movie for it's time.
9) Gazal (1963) Meena Kumari,Sunil Dutt.

Apparently he was at one time - I asked him the same question and gave a very interesting reply on this thread (page 4);

Quote:
to make it short in late 70's for just a few years did the following; worked for a bollywood actress (she was huge in 60's but by the time I got around to her, her days of being a leading lady were over),was also associated with financing & distribution company, movie publication and a few other things. Let me tell you movie industry is very unkind todays stars become yesterdays news in blink of an eye. Have seen respected stars down on their luck begging for roles, stars drunk as a skunk, female star you least expect hiding drinks in coke bottles, stars using real bazaru lingo when pissed off. Only handfull of decent filmi people like Amitabh,Helen, late Ashok Kumar,Zeenat Aman and few others most of them are insecure bunch of fakes. Boy I was the lucky one who ended up coming to USA to finish my eduation and to join my family. No regrets looking back as most of the people see filmi Duniya from outside I saw it from inside. No longer in touch with that world have moved onto better things have been back only once that was about 13 years ago but I still enjoy watching movies from that era. - lakeshore
