With serialised version of Asoka on Star becoming extremely popular, rival TV Channel Sony plans to telecast Aamir Khan's Lagaan in a similar fashion. Now this happens to a wonderful technique for filmmakers to show even those portions that were edited in the final version of the film. With Lagaan already being a lengthy film, there is footage of around 45 minutes that can be added to the film. One wonders if this will become a trend of sorts in the coming days!

Why cant' they release this extra footage on dvd? It would reach a higher market. I myself don't recieve these channels, and would prefer to buy them. A 2-dvd set of Asoka, with the extended version would be great.

And Lagaan... I have to see these extra 45 minutes.
